Spanish moss in lieu of straw?

anyone think spanish moss would be a good replacement for straw? straw is not in season yet and i can't get any, but there is a ton of spanish moss at teh local dollar store and i thought that would be a decent replacement. i would use timothy hay or something similar at the pet store but it's pricey and the spanish moss is cheap.

any ideas would be welcome, i searched for posts about spanish moss but found none in the cultivation fourms.

I have even used lawn clippings once, with good results. Just try it and see.
