what do i do?
    #14534294 - 05/30/11 03:09 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

im sure a lot of you have read my trip report. well, i come home from prison today expecting to find a pile of bills, but not like this. between everything, im apparently $10,000 in debt im 19, unemployed, was unemployed before incarceration, and have no insurance. and now im getting charged 10,000 for unnecessary medical bills, i didnt want the treatments, and they really didnt do anything in the first place except glue a cut shut on my brow and give me an MRI, plus a 4 mile fire rescue ride. and they didnt even tend to my dog wounds! which was the main thing that needed to be addressed. now my credit is horrible because i havent responded to any of the bills in the last 11 months due to my incarceration.

what should i do?

dont sweat it it man
aside from the jail time your situation sounds kinda similar to mine
bad choices put me just over 20k in debt (9k of it to the feds)
by the time i was 21

does the bad credit suck yes
but that can be rebuilt

as far as your record man

in my opinion you need to make yourself so valuable (skills-experience ect)that your record can be overlooked

one step at a time man

i owe the government approximately 30k in tuition fees.

i don't know , there must be some sort of public agency you can call to speak to and get some free advice or help with your situation.

it's probably a good idea also to respond to whatever letters your being sent by the companies you owe money too also.

YES
alot of stuff became alot easier when i didnt avoid it(not saying you are op)

its not going to go away unless you make it

example-i had an overdraft at a bank half way across the country
for around 400 dollars

i was able to speak to them about my situation
and lowered the payment to 214 and some change

to say i was surprised is an understatement
