I got 96 jars with postage it was about 80 quid. I did the postage that states no tax to pay on arrival. Think it was about 20 quid and jars was 60. It worked out the jars cost about 80p each.
Edit: on a side note. While I was over there 3 weeks ago I picked up the ball plastic lids. 10 boxes for $30 so about 20 quid. Here you pay £9.99 a box. To get them online and posted is 70 quid. Glad I popped to target.

Hi all, new grower here so be gentle...
I have been reading and learning for about a month now and recently inoculated some brf cakes and I know I am new but decided to put some on agar to see if the syringe I brought was any good and also just to see the mycelium? growing.
Anyway, apparently steaming is inferior so can anyone recommend a pressure cooker? I hear it doesn't have to but should reach 15psi?
Also, what's the crack with jars and bags for grain? I see a lot of people use quart mason jars but they're expensive and then there's plastic lids to source. I was thinking pp5 from ampulla? What is the best and where is the best place to get them ?
Appreciate all the information everyone has already provided and thanks in advance for any future help

I use large pasta sauce jars 900ml (which is pretty much a quart)
or look for anything in large jars. Pickles, cabbage etc
Lidl has round jars of cheap instant coffee 200g for 1.80 euro a jar i bought 4 a while back. ended up chucking the coffee but the jars work great.
Just puncture a hole in the middle and stuff with poly fill
(I took stuffing from an old dog bed)
As for pressure cookers i'll be getting a 23 quart Presto from the states or this one soon

My PC is shit for grains. I think it's 10 psi and any oat jar I've tried failed. even with 2,5 hours of PC'ing
I've just bought some other grains so fingers crossed
Works great for PF and agar etc

I've been using jars from wilko with a hole in the top for a straw,12 for £2. 3 layers of micropore over the hole and they're working great.

Jars are more of a personal preference. Someone was using the pp5 from ampulla and did ok.
I've got the presto it's ace. But Hawkins do them too and are available in the UK. Personally I would splash out on a presto.

Yeah I was thinking jars but wasn't sure about the metal lids...obviously they'll start to rust eventually?
12 for £2 though and I haven't got to get the drill out again sounds good. I'll check those out and will probably settle for the Hawkins PC wise. Have read a lot about the Presto and they seem top dog but the Hawkins will get me off the ground and I can get it delivered tomorrow.
Appreciate the help. Good first impressions.

They eventually rust yeah but you should get a fair few uses. I got the plastic ones cos I could and they was cheap. I've done 4 cycles with em so far and no rust. I just hope these plastic ones hold out.

Anybody using food colouring. If so which one? I've used 3 different ones and my agar comes out the PC like nothing was added.

I use dr oetker blue. a few drops in a 250ml bottle of agar/water/honey mix
works a treat

Hi all, just starting out. Have used BRF Tek and inoculated with spore syringe from sporebuddies in uk. Anyone have any experience with their spores? Was super quick delivery and okay price.

They'll probably be shit. Out 15 syringes and 2 vials I've had nothing but crap. That's been in the last few month. If they're like everyone else then don't hold your breath.
I've tried all the Dutch ones and got about an Oz of shrooms from 15 syringes. The best so far is freespore ES.

Which syringe did you buy? I've bought their 2.5 ml which is still colonising, their 20ml, which looks like the same manufacturer as other 20ml syringes I've bought elsewhere which were crap, but I've yet to try their 10ml sporeworks which should be decent.
