I am not certain. I know East End brand in the Asian shops has a very long cooking time 45-50mins http://www.eastendfoods.co.uk/product-categories/basmati-rice/brown-basmati/
The ones branded as easy cook have less, but I have seen ones with ~30min cooking times. Maybe they have varying amounts of processing done, e.g. more of the outer hull/husk/whatever removed.
tesco boil in the bag brown is 15-17min https://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=278086224
tesco normal easy cook brown is 25mins https://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=278086264
tilda brown (not called easy cook) is 25mins https://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=254199298
uncle ben is only 10min and does not say easy cook, but has 10min advertised on the packet https://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=258224455

There's an easy fix for that. Send them in a box. Take a black felt marker, and write, in big letters, on the outside of the box:
DO NOT OPEN. NUCLEAR WASTE PRODUCT

That Uncle Ben's I think is pre-cooked. I don't think they are obligated to mention it if it's parboiled. There is definitely a variation in how much the grains are polished. When I go to my organic food store, there's whole brown rice, half-brown rice, and white rice. The half-brown rice isn't advertised as such, but I was told that the half-brown gets a light polish.

Not a concrete recommendation. But look for one which makes the widest seal. Some make a really thin seal. So not one which is able to seal a wide bag (also nice) but one that makes a wide seal. Comprendo?

That makes sense. Do they tend to come with the bags you need?

Often a few are added. Cheap spare bags are to be bought elsewhere. The bags of the sealers brand itself are very expensive usually

How are you guys working with spawn bags? what are you using to pressure cook them? I really need something that can do more than one at a time

I don't work with bags really, but I've just bought a Hawkins 14litre PC (they do an 18/22 but it was a bit pricey for me) - will report back on the size once i can visualise it, but theyre the only big ones you can really get in the uk.

No info on the one you've posted sorry. But I got one from Clas Ohlsen for £22. It does the job great, just doesn't have the timer.

(not mycology related)
For those of you in the UK who are specifically looking for what yanks call naptha/naphtha to use as a nonpolar solvent, this is the same thing. I have not tested this brand specifically but this is the same thing - aliphatic hydrocarbons which have low ish boiling points.

Wide mouth ball jars arrived this week from Lucky Vitamin, box was destroyed but the jars were in good condition. They have messed up and left a parcel in Detroit so apart from that I would highly recommend them to anyone buying in the UK
