this is totally of topic, but since its aimed solely at brits i couldnt think where better to post it.
THE FUCKING TV LICENCE!!
the BBC is the only company in the world, outside communist China, that, if you dont buy their product, has the power to send you to prison!!
sure you will get a fine or two first, but after refusing to pay the fine on the above grounds they can send you to pissin' jail!!
now i dont know about you lot, but i think that is WANK!!! i dont usually swear in my posts, but this pisses me right off!!
rant over

LOL chill out maaan. Just dont pay for it. Ive not bought a TV licence for 5 years, have a sky subscription and nothing has ever come of it. I get the occasional letter saying "you are going to prison!!!" But thats it.
Just dont let the inspectors in if they ever come round. You can refuse entry as they are not the police.
Saying that, an inspector caught my friend without a TV licence, he bought one the next day and never recieved a fine.
So basically, dont pay it!

It is indeed a rip off! For the muppets who are scared by 'the man' into paying it.
Did you know theres no such thing as a TV detector van?

Ive seen a website stating that no one has been prosecuted with Evidence from a 'TV detector van' ever.. anyway lets keep this on topic, if you want to continue we could take it over to 'the pub'

wash it a couple of times and its much cheaper than homebase. b&q dont even sell cactus grit.

JARS: Aldi's Gisseppe's pasta sauce - 440ml capacity
18 PENCE!
Bought a dozen yesterday. Another dozen today. The sauce is horrible so if you can't find a willing victim to give it to I wouldn't feel too guilty pouring it down the drain.
I can fit 5 in my PC so BAM. goodtimes.

Thanks for starting a new thread, base.
Bought some new mason lids from the phillip morris link someone posted
That prebuilt flow hood looks like a great deal, but it can't have the recommended plenum depth (to even out the flow), so I'd want to hear what someone who bought one has to say about it.
I built my own, but the cost was formidable.

Anyone know where I can get hold of calcium carbonate or oyster shell flour,I've been to all the garden centres around my area but had no luck,I did manage to find crushed oyster shell but its not cheap & from what I've read it's not ideal to use as a ph buffer for casings although I have used it without any problems in the past?

Why not use hydrated lime? A box of that will last a year or two and it's cheap..

Is hydrated lime good as a long term buffer for ph as this is what i'm after or is calcium carbonate better?

I've always relied on lime and never had any problems... Never needed to try anything else.
