Pasta sauce jars have always been a standard choice for me. They can crack after a few PC cycles so watch out, but you cant really expect much from 32p homebrand curry sauce

I could be wrong but the no boiling water thing for me seemed to mean dont pour boiling water into them whilst they're still at room temperature, I think they get "shocked" by it. There's also the fact if you have them on the counter and it's even slightly wet and you pour really hot water in they're trying to expand and shrink at the same time and it makes them shatter.

Looks a bit shitty stuff that im not into wbs so im not sure. Those red lumps look like theyd make a mess once boiled and sunflower seeds and shit aint good either. I get 20kg of whole oats delivered to my house for £17.50 and the prep is as easy if not easier than wbs.

Where do you get your whole oats from? Oats are a minefield of groats, irish, steelcut, pinhead ect. I got 5kg of groats which is doing very well now but it's a bit messy.

No worries. Make sure when they arrive they are whole oats i.e. have the outter shell/hull still on. They sent me naked oats once but had them swapped out the next day so cant complain.

Looks similar to what I'm using. The red bits are berry fat pellets and yes as mrmazdarx9 says, they break up when you hydrate the seed. I pick them out before hydrating, but it's an extra job you don't want really. I wouldn't buy it again. I'm hoping to go down the whole oat road as well once I get through this bag of WBS.

Chaps, what are you using for casing instead of the US "Jiffy mix"? Any links to smallish inexpensive bags?

OK the hunt for irish peat moss is over, I'm kicking myself cause i left a 100lt bag in a shed of an old house 8 years ago lol. Homebase used to sell Westland 100lt @ £9.99, but no stores seem to stock it now up my way and its £17.99 delivered from fleabay (ouch).Your stores may still have it in.
My advice is, even though I'm talking to myself here hehe, check your independent local garden centers. I found some just down the road from me £7.99 for 125lt. Enough to case the rest of my life twice

These honey jars have lids with a lot of "screw" on them. I'm using these at the moment for grain, unmodified, and just unscrew them a little for gas exchange.
