Actually I'm quite lucky, I have a shop for mycology supplies in my town, but some things he don't have (e.g. Mason Jars, SFDs, Polyfil), that stuff I have to buy online

We have these kind of jars here in germany in normal grocery stores, they are very cheap.
But take care: Some of the lids are only pasteurizable and not sterilizable. At least the description of the manufacturer sais that. IMO also the past. lids will be able to be sterilized, but I haven't tried it.
https://www.glaeserundflaschen.de/GLAeSER/Schraubverschluss/Rundglas-540-ml--13501.html
60 cents per jar and 20 cents per lid. Very cheap. There you can also see that there are different kinds of lids, some pasteurizable, some sterilizable.
Maybe they ship to the Netherlands

Hey, from the UK here and finding it impossible to find wide neck jars for PF tek besides those expensive Bonne Maman jam jars from Asda and Sainsburys! £2.28 a pop!! I unfortunately dont have an aldi or tesco near me which sucks too! Anyone know any alternatives to glass jars? I've hear polypropylene works but even that is difficult to find. Any other suggestions or links? Cheers

poundland can sometimes have jam in tapered jars the same as bonne maman.
PP tubs are everywhere, can't believe you struggle to find them. Loads of supermarket soups come in them, but they are 500ml. You get smaller tubs of sweets which often PP containers. I have seen them used for olives and other stuff in smaller tubs too.
these tubs could be an OK size. http://www.poundland.co.uk/chocolate-crispy-bite-larger-tub

I'm definitely gonna cop some of these and keep them handy, do you reckon I could use them for PF tek too?

I'll give hobbycraft a look because I'm lucky that I have one close to home! I'm definitely going to do more searching, I just didn't really know what plastic alternatives I could use without damaging them and also achieving the same effects when autoclaving but using glass as its tried and tested.
Thank you very much for all your help! I'll be sure to post whatever I buy and where I bought it from! I feel like someone should make an updated thread with all this new info and put this sort of stuff on it, not just web links.

We are about half the size of California lol.
You can definetely use them for PF tek, colonisation time could be quite slow to begin with. When you get more confident with the skills try this. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21168958

Europe is about as big as the United States, but the EU is about half the size of the US, although the EU has 200 million more people. The reason supplies are so hard to find is a cultural difference. Europeans don't can at home, so we don't have pressure canners or mason jars. I think the reason home canning is more popular in the US is because there's a lot more rural area, with people who grow vegetables at home and need to store them long-term.

I can't for the life of me understand the obsession with glass. Just get these - 8 plastic tubs for £1. I have used a huge amount over the years and never had a problem with pressure cooking, colonisation, infection or anything else - never had one fail. 8 TUBS FOR £1:
http://www.poundland.co.uk/round-microwavable-container-550ml-8-pack
You guys would also do well to consider that PF Tek is usually a relatively short period in your mushroom growing - you will soon move on to bigger, better and more complex grows leaving expensive glass jam jars sitting in the cupboard.

Do these have the really flimsy lids that break easily?
