Hey, I have found a good site for small wide mouth jars, I'm not sure if anybody else has found this site or not so I thought I'd post this here. http://www.jamjarshop.com/buy/shortroundjamjar4oz/?catid=6 If you don't want to buy a whole pack then you can email them and they will do an order over the phone for the amount of jars you need. They also sell some nice 32oz (quart equivalent) jars.

The linked jars are tiny, way too small to bother with for cakes IMO
I use(d) Bonne Maman/Tesco Finest, they're about perfect.

I just did some cakes in 10 plastic jars with lids from the £1 shop - even put holes in the lids with a belt hole tool - did all ten in about 2 minutes. B&M sell jam in decent glass jars for a £1 too if it's glass you want. Has anyone managed to find anywhere selling an impellor humidifier for my greenhouse?

I thought ultrasonic was no good?? The searches I've done have shown a lot of UK growers buying humidifiers from the US - obviously i'd much rather buy from the UK tho

I used an ultrasonic in a Martha for several years with no problems, just need to keep the reservoir topped up or they will burn out. Also keep the reservoir tank/water clean or you can get contam issues. Mount it at the top of the GH/tent or whatever so the water is flowing down evenly, it also helps push fresh air in as it drops if you shotgun some holes in the top of your tent and leave a small gap at the bottom for heavier CO2 to be displaced.
A couple of drops of Iodine tincture per litre works well, stops your tank from becoming a mould/mildew etc breeding ground. Iodine in small amounts won't cause any damage or growth problems.

CO2 does not sink or settle out of air....especially in a fruiting chamber that has constant heat and humidity currents that rise.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19159484#19159484
^ Please read this thread for further explanation.....there are 6 pages of it.
Co2 levels will be higher at the top of the martha/gh than the bottom.

Edited for clarity, shotgunning holes at the top and leaving a gap around the bottom of a Martha just helps with FAE in general is what I was trying to say. The falling water vapour will force the air in the tent to be pushed from the bottom, the holes in the top/sides (I do both) just help create a more continuous current so that circulation is optimal when the humidifier is running.
You can witness this with just your eyes as water vapour/surrounding air flows out the bottom of the tent/Martha. The link you posted suggests that CO2 will be evenly dispersed throughout the air in a given environment. Convection currents etc will obviously cause the gases present to mix and merely lead to air with a higher concentration of CO2 throughout the environ in question.
I feel a bit offended for some reason that someone thinks I need this clarifying, ego is a terrible thing..
I fanned every couple of days too, since I started doing monos, I wonder why I ever bothered with all that complicated and expensive set-up anyway. I think Marthas/tents are only really needed for spawn bags and other large and bulky substrates.
