Cheap bulk gypsum, apparently food grade quality:
http://www.specialplasters.co.uk/index.php?_a=product&product_id=215
Not sure i would ever get through a 25kg bag, but for £12 delivered... Perhaps a business opportunity for someone to split the bags!?

Not tried these but have made a note in case I get really enthusiastic about woodlovers: http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/en/renewables/biomass/balcas-brites-wood-pellet-10kg-166072
I see they have been touted at mushroom grower exhibitions, so may be something in it. According to the manufacturer they are made from virgin wood (no MDF, glue, etc) and renewable energy: http://www.brites.eu/FAQs#whatarebrites

Which lights? I'm not seeing a link.. I have used fish tank lights in several grows in the past, now use them for cacti seedlings etc.
They are fully waterproof/mistproof and perfect for growing all types of things, mine are 30w and were surprisingly cheap, I forget how much I paid, but less than £30 I think, 2 bulbs included.
Plus there are a whole raft of different bulbs available, I had good success using 2 different bulbs at the same time, both of which cross through the 6500k spectrum, the ballast I have has fittings for 2 bulbs, which is very handy for lighting multiple tubs/trays or even 2 Marthas at once.
I miss growing mushies, want to get some edibles on the go, but I keep moving house every 2-3 months it seems.
Welcome aboard K. Saurus and Psibernaut, we are here, just take a few days to reply sometimes, getting old!!

Bought this, thanks for the tip.
It's a lot, but I seem to go through a fair bit.
I'm still thinking of making a web store to sell off smaller quantities of some of these things like peat, gypsum, petris, etc. that I've bought bulk amounts of...

My gf will no doubt buy the dettol as she's convinced it's better even after a head chef at a top restaurant told her that they use diluted bleach and vinegar to clean their kitchen. . Apparently ours needs to be cleaner! I wouldn't mind so much if she was a clean freak overall but she hasn't touched the vacuum this year! :-D

Thank you
If you are making LC's, skip the MEA and just go with a light/clear Acacia honey, I never looked back, fantastic results and no sediment etc, so it's far easier to see whats going on and how healthy the myc production is. Just a thought, I found MEA and other similar stuff to be a pain in the backside.
About 1g of honey per 100ml

Agar agar from Asian markets works great too, cheap as well. Just boil and pour, easier than MEA IME.
Anyone got a good source for clear mono tubs? Haven't grown in around 2 years but want to start a few projects as I have a nice clean house for the first time in a long while.
I've never done monos before, I used to do SGFC's and a few martha set ups. Think mono is the way to go for bulk though, seems like less hassle.
Also need polyfill, not something I have used except for GE in some very early lids I made. I just tore up an old pillow for that, is that the best way to go? Or can you get polyfill in hardware stores etc in the UK?
I feel like a n00b again, really rusty! Probably go for manure/verm/straw sub, maybe coir, but I've never used that before either, not sure I want to start monkeying around with new subs until I get the monos dialed in nicely.
So yeah, polyfill and decent mono tubs to help a rusty old-timer out, cheers guys.
