safe. I might have to look into this. You say a 23qt will hold 10! litre jars in 1 sitting? that does sound rather useful.

That seems like an epic deal!
Now, can you get gaskets and parts for it? Do they have to come from the states?

AFAIK, you'll need gaskets for it. They should last a while though. Never hurts to have one on hand. Though with shipping might want to order two or three to get it sorted and dusted.

Can I piggyback on that and ask if those hanging basket liners are any use, as they sell them locally (and I don't need much as I don't have much spawn)

Good to know, any feedback on the basket liners as my local pound shop less than 5 minutes away has them.

That looks more like husk to me. At the end of the day though its a cellulose material. Should be fine. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it was sprayed with some sort of fungicide or something. This is pure speculation though. I have nothing to back it up or experience with the product.

It would seem the Big Boy has been toppled!
Great find on the Presto 23ltr, US ebay/amazon etc is so much better..
I think I mentioned it before but in 20+ years of mailing things to and from the States I have never incurred a VAT charge, does tend to make things cheaper, even with international postage.

Used the presto for the first time today, really nice piece of kit. I will keep oiling my gasket before each use, i wont be using it too often so should last a good while. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a big, budget pressure cooker!

I know this has been asked before, and it's kinda dumb, but here goes:
Anyone know where I can buy nice poo that's suitable for cultivation? Preferably some vendor that delivers?
I know it's just horse/cow shit, and I know it's just lying around in fields and farms, and I'm sure that if I looked hard enough, I could find someone who's more than happy to unload free shit on me, but I'm lazy, and/or don't want to spend my weekend time hunting for shit and/or, don't have the facilities for aging stuff that's too fresh.
I've got a big bag of B&Q "farmyard manure", and my experience seems to validate the testimonial that someone wrote here - 'meh'. I did successfully grow cubes on it, but the results were less than spectacular.
Now I'm wanting to do batches of non-cube things (exotics, edibles) that require poo, and I'd like to get some good stuff. Don't need big quantities. I'd rather pay than hunt, know what I mean?
Any recommendations?
Andy

composted horse manure... http://www.champfleurieestate.co.uk/acatalog/Horse_Manure.html think you would need to mix it with straw to get a better texture. peace

Thanks chronicdruid, have you ever used this? I've always been under the impression that composted manure is wrong for cultivation, or at least for any mushrooms that are primary decomposers (cubes and pans, I think, are examples of primary decomposers)
