Im thinking it would get em cracker dry by itself set to 30c for a few hours Still do overnight in desiccant chamber to be sure of course... but this would be cool for dehydrating food thats about to go off aswell
I have that one. It's good. It can dry cubes pretty well overnight, at 30C, but yeah, I usually do them a bit longer, and I still put them in a desiccant chamber to make sure they're totally dry.
Mine goes up to about 70C, but the only time I turned it up high, the fan (coincidentally?) quit working and the base unit started to melt but the seller replaced it.

right. those filter discs. i have bought a roll of synthetic filter material from a hospital supply company in europe and i am currently testing its suitability (its about 10ml thick and was intended to be used for something to do with preventing legionaires disease, some hospital filter or other) if its good i will have discs made up from it. i will keep you posted, cos there seems to be precious little in the way of filter discs for sale in the UK.

How will you make up the discs?
Tyvek overalls seem a very good/cheap option, but i like the appeal of my jars being neat & tidy, so want to cut the tyvek into discs, although to have it tight on the tops of jars i think you'll have to have to 'twist' the material on with the lid

@ The Chronic , are you after some thing like this http://www.toolbox.co.uk/cadac-safari-chef-30cm-low-14887-500444?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=GB&utm_campaign=GoogleBase
the only downside is that it does not come with gas bottle and regulator but if you like outdoor cooking this thing is the shit , had a similar cadac braai back in R.S.A and it never let me down .

I ended up going for one of those £10 ones with gas cartridges, ive seen a couple posters saying they work just fine with their PCs
Thanks for the suggestion though, that is one nice lil unit
Has anyone here used Kilrock moisture absorber granules in a desiccant chamber? Just bought 25kg off amazon as its so cheap compared to other desiccant, hope it's good

You will. One of the finest fellows you'll find around here.
Base, we should make sure we finally have that pint, next time you're in London.

I ordered 100ltr of vermiculite for £24.95, thinking it would be 100 litres 'when filled' like the verm you get at garden centres
No, today at work a HUUUUUGE bag of verm turned up!
If any of you guys are londoners & want some, or a lot of FREE verm, drop me a PM

Don't know if it's already been posted but Tesco are now putting their finest jam range in jars suitable for PF Tek, same as Bon Mamman but almost half the price
