Using micropore tape is a pita when it comes to opening them, a roll of cling film cut down in to smaller chunks works brilliantly.

Yes cling film is much easier than micropore. Before i ditched sealing dishes I used to just wrap celotape around. Then i did a run without sealing, and found no difference in contam rate.

I donβt think I would want to risk not sealing them, especially with the glass ones as they are a looser fit than the plastic.

Thanks for the link, I just bought 18 to go with my brand new flow hood ( wood cut, assembly tomorrow).....ha ha.
Those no pour one are the one I use Fractal. I put the hole on the side high up and pour in extra agar to beat the bottom protruded base.

Yeah mate, you should really seal them up no matter what, its an extra barrier of protection at the end of the day. Im just lazy most of the time lol and 9/10 times theres no difference for me. Another option, as i find wrapping a shit load of plates so tedious is buy some of those zip lock/click together type baggies.

Pp5 cheap pour plates with click lids, should remove the need to seal also, but i guess you still could for extra protection. https://www.ampulla.co.uk/Shop-For-Plastic/Plastic-Food-Pots/200ml-Clear-Round-Plastic-Food-Pot-With-125mm-TE-Lid/p-170-206-3532/ Can be reused and PC'd and in the description says leak proof.

I used to but found a lifted grill is better as long as I thoroughly soak the base with soapy water.

I ran a dry SAB without gloves or alcohol for months... it's a STILL air box: and operates on that principle, not cleanliness...a folded towel creates a better seal around the base and prevents negative pressure from movement from sucking contaminants in from underneath the edges... I'd set up, wash my hands to the elbow (sometimes) and go to work... I'm hoping you do mean SAB, as a true glovebox (with gloves attached) will cause pressure fluctuations and also create a vector... but you've been doing your thing seems for a while: if it ain't broke
