the hawkins big boy is good i have found a way to get 6quart jars in there, just need to manipulate the lid in the right way and if that fails swear at it a little bit until bingo!
its a good pressure cooker if anyone is wandering i dont really have room for 2 though (chuckles to self-- just imagining the look on the wifes face if i bought another 1)

450 squids though man! at 60 litre would that need its own purpose built hob? says it has pressure gauge (which you'd want at that size lol!) i would love to see a picture of this! what a dirty great big beast. guess instead of putting it in the cupboard, you could just disguise it/ use it as a cupboard!
... aparently 60l is nothing to these guys.. 160l is what they like to play with!!...
http://www.kwitex.com/ ;
they have a video on that site,, she is talking all sorts of sweet nothings in her indian accent to me right now.... blah blah blah safety valve... blah blah blah fill up with water... blah blah blah.. 100 litres of curry in a hurry!
ps. i forgot ... the 160l

chronicdruid said: yep they are jars of rye grain. good luck with your brf cakes, let us know how they get on.
just thought i'd let you all know that the cakes did ok (are doing ok, they're still trying to pump out little babies you can see pics here in my gallery if you fancy, or in my journal (which needs a bit of an update)
so now I'm onto WBS and Rye. haha. probably getting ahead of myself, but it's fun so why not eh?
so I think I need tyvek (PM to yourself Chronic ), just found some gypsum in a skip on my road, polyfill out of a poundland stuffed toy, pc=got, jars=got, spore=got, poo->need...
ermm I'm sure there's more bits and bobs, but if anyone has any thoughts on their preferred method (coir as opposed to poo, best LC tek etc) then let me know
hope life's treating you all tip top!!!
(and I'm assuming everyone' quiet cause they're all out in the fields picking? damn if i could only get a lift to Wales

ill pm you a good starting point, so as to keep this thread on topic
if any1 likes big jars,, tescos have some they sell sauercraut and gherkins... they are in the polish foods section go for about £1 - £1.30 a jar and are a quart size. have a lovely seal on them to. They are nice to work with and well worth the monies, compared to buying canning jars.
sauercraut are the best IMP because they dont stink of gherkin for ages after, usually cheaper, and about 3 times quicker to clean. peace

ok folks, it seems as if Wilkinsons has stopped its verm/ perlite selling for the year, and garden centres are selling it for £8 for 8litres, which is a bit steep
I'd rather not amazon it if possible (damn that paranoia!!) so any ideas for possible sources?
cheers all!

You can get pasatta (seived tomato) in ~700ml jars pretty cheap, they are wide enough lids to shake grain out of. You can use it in cooking spag bol, I used to just drink it! I would not go through pickles quickly and hate throwing out food.
I am in Ireland and get "sunny south" brand baby carrots in tesco which often (always?) have 100% extra free. I can easily eat a whole jar of them in 1 or 2 goes.
680g carrots, I can fit 200g dry wheat in the jar.

Hydroponic shops are great for perlite/verm. I got 100ltr of perlite for £13 I think, maybe £14.. Still about 10 times cheaper than the 6 or 10 ltr bags.
Screwfix do Tyvek suits XXXL for about £6.

My post in here about jars has prolly got lost in years of posts, but I still swear by the 19p Asda own brand curry sauce jars.
You get some funny looks walking in and buying a whole tray of 10 for £1.90 but who cares .
Cheapest jars ever!!!...they used to be only 9p but slowly going up, I have around 150 of these buggers.
