Would you follow a law that makes no sense?

Would you obey orders from a police officer, no matter how stupid it is?
^There is a law that prohibits demonstrations in the Jefferson Memorial, but would you call this disturbing the peace? Would you call the officer's actions justified? Would you follow *any* law that the United States passes, no matter how stupid or unjust it may be?
Thoughts on the matter, and feel free to participate in the debate on the comments section of this video.
-------------------- "As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

On the one hand, it was wrong for them to protest in that place, but it was also wrong of the police to use such brutal methods to subdue them.

Well that's 100% F***ed up and pure genius at the same time. What a great demonstration of the idiocracy which some of our laws represent - and how idiotically they are enforced.
Kinda reminds me of a similar mindless injustice that is brutally enforced on a massive scale each and every day...
Do you happen to know who these guys were? I wouldn't mind sending them some donation bail money.

They could have just bent his arm behind his back and frog-marched him out of there. I think that was totally uncalled for and as disrespectful as protesting there.

are you people failing to realize whats going on here... YES this adam guy is looking for attention BUT
people were just arrested for DANCING in a public place. do you not get the reality of it?
this isnt what jefferson would have wanted. he would have supported these protesters even though they were breaking the law...."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." –Thomas Jefferson
wake up people. some dude just got slammed to the ground for exercising his first amendment rights. swat teams are busting in houses and killing people over non violent crimes like growing bud.

You have a child's eye opinion about what the first amendment means. It is not a license to annoy the fuck out of other people.

I guess you didnt see where they tried at 3 minutes in to do just that sort of thing. he kept trying to prevent that and the cop took more drastic measures, the cop even told him to put his hands behind his back, called him sir and told him it was his last warning

so you admit it was more than just dancing, that it was in fact protesting

Yeah, I didn't get that far in. I stand corrected. The guy was kinda being an obnoxious jerk. I guess he got what he wanted.

cops detain you and prosecute you in court, that is all. anything you say can be used against you in court.
regardless if im protesting (which ill vote instead) if im ever by a cop im not shaking his hand and im not even looking at him, he is working to make a living.
people that protest like this are actually making matters worse. if you dont like the laws theres no use in dancing and being belligerent in front of a crowd and cops.
