If you mean Arizona, then isn't that a tad warm for that species? And also a tad the wrong time of year?

Mushrooms grow all over Arizona,I used to live in Phoenix.I used to find tons in the mountains, after nice rains, which weren't too often, and along any rivers,or creeks you may find. Also, all the grass and flowerbeds gets watered daily there during real hot months, and I would find all kinds of mushrooms in the lawns, and mulch in my Apartment complex all the time :-)

You won't find Psilocybe strictipes (or Psilocybe semilanceata at that) in Arizona, no matter what the FAQ says. That's ridiculous.

And also: good luck on repeating that one-of-a-kind find. Seriously, for a mycologist that might be a challenge, but to a kid just wanting to get high it would probably be a better idea to collect cans until you got the 10 bucks for a tab of LSD, because that's a quicker way of getting high for sure.

Yeah, well, some people pay 15 these days. @Herb> You do know that this is the shroomery and the OP is only mentioning P. stricts because he is clutching at straws, do you? Anyways, yeah, I am a grumpy, cynical bastard who's had a bad weekend.

yup thats the one. that was a wicked thread! that blew me away, i figured it was P silvatica for sure and outa no where the spores suggest P strictipes!!
OP you really have not that much else to look for and if you trout fish, that creek looks mint! study Lipas thread and even pm him if you are serious about it.
not all of us share GKs negative aproach and i always urge people to look for rare things. why the hell not. it looks like amazing habitat and i cant see anything negative coming out of walking around that place! it looks beauty .
