Help me identify these bug bites! **UPDATED with a pic**
    #14528656 - 05/28/11 10:58 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Update:

At least..i think they are bug bites...

I had a few campfires in the middle of a marsh in southern Ontario, like, 4 days ago. I was sitting in the wet grass the whole time... and the big wool sweater I wore..i continued to wear the next day or two on and off...

A few days ago i noticed i had like 8 red itchy bumps on my chest and stomach, they are still quite itchy, but don't seem to getting too much worse. They look a lot like a small pimple without the white dot in the middle.

I know they are not mosquito bites, because they happened under two layers of clothing, and I don't react to mosquito bites.

I checked my bed for bed bugs...didn't find anything, or signs of them. And I haven't been anywhere that might have them...

My dogs and opposum seem to be flea free as well...

My one thought is that it might be chiggers, or harvest mites. They seem to be common in spring/early summer, in wet grassy areas...

Has anyone had any experience they would like to share? I'm paranoid that i have like..scabies..or bed bugs..and want to sleep easy tonight, haha.

Chiggers suck. I get strong reactions to them, so they itch terribly for me. I usually don't even realize I'm doing it till it's becoming sore and raw.

I had this type of thing happen all over my leg a few days ago.

Although I haven't been sitting in wet grass, I suspect that it is due to my dermatographism.

OP, take a pen cap that is slightly pointy and draw a line down your arm. Does your skin react by forming a raised red line? Also, have you ever developed hives without a stimuli?

Looks like chigger bites to me.

That opposum looks badass under the black light.
Do they make good domesticated house pets? I'd imagine otherwise from experience.

I would also guess chigger bites. Those fuckers are itchy as hell and they don't go away for a long time.

Yep, Chiggers. I didn't know they were that far north though.
