so protesting in the oval office is more reasonable since everything about the whitehouse is publicly funded right down to Obamas underwear
In my country I believe you are legally allowed to protest in any publicly funded government office. In fact in the past few years there have been many sit-in protests at government offices.
So yes.
I don't know how your shitty country works.

Anyways do you think this time they got their permit and were allowed to "protest".

well, since the people in the original video were protesting specifically against a ban on dancing in memorials, they had to have expected to be arrested. that's just a part of civil disobedience. thoreau did it, gandhi did it, MLK did it. that doesn't make it right for the government to arrest these people, but if you're going to protest unjust laws by breaking them the reality is they're gonna arrest you and put you in jail for it. and hopefully the absurdity of such a thing happening will bring attention to it and spark some change.

you have the right to be any of those things in the privacy of your own home yet you're demanding the disrespectful should be respected when doing such in public areas when in violation of the law. it's not just the attitudes of these people that resulted in their arrest but also their actions, inactions and the location they chose to display their attitudes
I'm not saying anybody needs to be respected. It comes down to when I consider force ethically valid. The unfortunate thing here is that since the memorial is jointly owned (or at least paid for) by everybody, I can't really see who would have the legitimate authority to say nonviolent people can't protest/dance/loudly snap gum or whatever without a permit.
By "legitimate authority" I mean somebody who can say, "I'm the owner of this memorial. If you protest, you'll have to leave." At that point, you're dealing with trespassing and if it's a protest or not doesn't factor into it.
And don't worry, I'm well aware that this is all head up my own ass theoretical stuff. I'm talking about how I'd prefer things, not how things are. I'm the last person to antagonize police. They respond a lot better to friendliness. Never been tackled, choked, body slammed or arrested. Worst I've ever got was "I'm sorry, bud, I have to lay a charge here."

In a 26-page opinion, U.S. District Judge John Bates ruled that "expressive dancing" does constitute an act that undermines "an atmosphere of calm, tranquility, and reverence" at the memorial.
"A prohibition on expressive activities in a nonpublic forum does not violate the First Amendment if it is viewpoint neutral and is 'reasonable in light of the use to which the forum is dedicated,'" Bates wrote. "Here, the ban on demonstrations at the Jefferson Memorial satisfies these requirements."
