Guitar feels good man

It feels good when you're not even in the mood of playing and you play for the hell of it, maybe cover a song and get a small jam out of it and let out all your emotional energy.

But when I'm not in the mood to play I have no excess energy to spend

But when I do play, all of my worst memories are churned up to the forefront while I expand upon the infinite possibilities of melodic progressions in E Minor.  And I suffer ecstasy in such blatant masochism which fuels my madness.  Energy and reason inherently intertwined upon this fretboard and I am merely a conduit of cosmic compositions

I hear what you're saying. Sometimes I'll pick up my tele and notice something is off. My playing just won't be on point.

But...if I keep playing, eventually I can get to a place where the music starts flowing freely. And it feels perfect.

So how long you guys been playing? Ive been playin for 11 years now on and off (a lot of off lol), i just recently got back into it and im trying to get my technique down. im 100% self taught and i missed A LOT of stuff thats fundamental, so im trying to learn everything the right way and its so much harder than learning in the first place. Im trying to undo 11 years of bad technique. Im trying to get alternate picking down. I never learned or even heard of it until about a year ago, and i took a pretty long hiatus after i figured it out...but i can down pick like a motherfucker

If I didn't play guitar, my life would be shit and I would be a miserable human being.

When I had a guitar, I used to do some sick noise jams with it. I could never play it right, but I have a talent for noise music.

theres nothing like that feeling when your in that complete state of flow playing guitar where all your emotion and energy is put into the playing and nothing else matters at all....almost spiritual

I totally relate to this thread, even though for me it's the piano.

I've noticed that it's a lot easier for me to enter in that state of synergy with your instrument when I have my eyes closed (and dr00gz ofc).

For me it's my amplifier and feedback looping. I will just get so lost in the noise that I forget to press record.

It's very spiritual.
The better I get at my instrument, the better it feels to play too.  At the beginning, I made too many mistakes to really get connected with it and I got frustrated but now I can really let it flow.
You musicians are awesome.:awegroove:

lol so true

I find it so hard to "settle down" on an idea when I'm writing music. Right now it feels like exploring the music is just what I do.

What I do is that I play around and practice some patterns and then I play something I like and if I get idea I'll tab it out in Guitar Pro and I'll keep on practicing and play something else. Most of the riffs and patterns aren't as elaborate as they could when I'm doing this but then I can rework on them later.
