 My thoughts exactly
-------------------- One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?' was his response. 'I don't know', Alice answered. 'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

I've not much experience with these at all, they grow too slow so I've not had enough time to gain any! The one I do have is 42x10cm in a 16x16cm pot and now seems ready for a repot. Oh you are still on old money there, 16.5x4" in a 6x6" pot In habitat don't their roots run over a large area but very shallow? So they can absorb an obscene amount of water after rainfall rapidly from the surface, before it has evaporated again. Maybe we bonsai these keeping them constrained and they really want to fly free!

I'm no expert but saguaros have their growing peak arount 60 years assuming your lil saguaro is about 20 / 30 years old i would say that you are ok with that "pot" for at least 20 years Imo

Well that's good to know. They say the take forever. My Trichocereus grandifloris is in bad need of a repot. I may just put it in the trich plot.

Quite a few of my cacti split from the rains this winter we got more than usual. Also one of my customers let me take a cutting from what I believe is a crested myrtillocactus geomtrizans, the mother plant was almost 4 feet tall and about 2 feet wide.

You starting a nursery? You got a ton of plants man, all beautiful of course. I've started a ton of seed but it never came to fruition. I just don't ever get a handle of things. It's my Achilles. I hate that I can never ever see most of these thing through. Maybe I need to mature a little more. Even at 35 years young.

No nursery plans no, wouldn't want to turn a passion into a chore! I get carried away and sow too many species, but then get to select the most beautiful specimens to keep, and give/trade/sell any left over. So many gymnos and erios are harder to find as established plants for a decent price, so starting from seed takes care of that. I probably kill more than survive though..
I've not yet reached 40 myself. Life begins at 40 they say. I wonder, begins to what??
