No idea on the first, it could be a number of things. But it's a Mammillaria, all right. 2 is Echinopsis subdenudata, 3 seems to be a young Ferocactus latispinus, 4 is Mammillaria gracilis or whatever it's called these days), 5 and 6 are Opuntia and the last one is some kind of Cereus. Sorry I can't be more specific.

That's right,3 is a Ferocactus latispinus I believe. The last one is Acanthocereus tetragonus.

It was sold to me as montrose off ebay. It's a clumping variety that's for sure.

Exactly what  I do. It helps so you don't have all these pots and then I take them out to put in separate pots.

Thanks for identifying it! It was pretty fierce, long spines and covered in glochids. The largest spines near the base had a paper husk surrounding them that came off when touched.

wikipedia and this article by MS Smith say the berries may be intoxicating. But the little info out there, doesn't seem too promising. Next time I come across them I might have to bioassay one or two..

Did you buy em, ferrel? My lowes doesnt even have their cacti stand up these past couple weeks. I think they just hid it while they rearrange everything for their upcoming spring shipments...

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'
