You could start a separate thread for flowering cacti.

Your local cactus flowers- yellow, low to the ground?

Never caught them flowering I don't think, I always saw them while hunting. I believe though they are pink, but I will be out looking tomorrow for sure, my dog and I have a date!

A few assorted columnars. I'm going to ask ID help when I manage to take a few good individual shots. Someone here said "they're all mutts anyway"... I guess that's about it, but they're so pretty!

Also, Mammillaria huitzilopochtli.

These are lovely. I started some from seed this year, hoping for some with long black central spines.

Oh? I think that's what I've got going on here:

I got this Trichocereus terscheckii a few months ago, somebody mentioned they might be freeze-resistant.
And it's pretty, and it's really fierce.

But then I was reading they may be psychoactive? Is there a list of "cacti to look for"?
I've seen a breakdown of alkaloid content for hundreds of species, that's not quite what I'm asking.
I mean like a Top Ten list or something.

That is a nice one.It does look fierce.

I have always read they were active but I have no evidence or personal experience to base that on.

Yours must be an Echinopsis probably a hybrid because terscheckii don't flower until they are much much larger.

I love my peyote. It's also the only cactus left from all the moving, my dad kicking me out, getting my own place, etc.. but it's enjoying itself under the sun outside and growing and flowering happily! Sometimes I get even 2 flowers at once and it seems to flower weekly. I'm really happy to have managed  to keep it even though I lost a few other cacti I really liked

Pics of it this morning:

It looks small but it recently reached 7cm diameter!

Any idea how old it could be? I got it while it was much smaller and I've had it for a few years now I think.

Cholla flowers:

This morning's Mammilariae, before and after:

Mama Mamillaria elongata is going to explode with pups:

And these Trichocereus grandiflorus (hybrid) pups are pupping already, babies having babies:
