any electricians in the house?
    #14525656 - 05/28/11 10:21 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

was thinking about applying as an apprentice in a few days or next month, but im totally rusty on math, anyone have any suggestions for studying?
i found this: http://www.electricianeducation.com/digital_calculations/journeyman_calculations_2.htm
but it doesn't really give much for explanations on how to solve the problems or any answers to check your work.
also how hard is the work? i totally get that as the new guy/lowest guy on the ladder im gonna have to bust my ass and do all the grunt work.

I've got a journeyman electrician license and 30 year IBEW pin.  I've always used it as a fall back whenever my business adventures go sour. I'm also an electrical engineer, but electrician work pays more money, so that's mostly what I've made my living at. If you're going to do construction work, it's probably the best bet.  I know our apprenticeship program requires one year of college level algebra before you can apply.
