Sorry to keep prodding at ya', but do you know the approximate expected yield from a medium sized tray or monotub? I know they yield a lot less than cubes, but I have heard as little as 6 grams dry. Ouch

Depends on your skill and setup and luck.
You want bulk? Try Maxicanae.

Might only get 6 dry grams. But the potency is typically more significant. Seems like a "cleaner" trip to me too.
Also you are referring to two different species of pans. Strains or varieties are not in play here.

There's NEVER an approximate yield for anything that grows... Especially mushrooms... You COULD have a PF cake that puts out more yield than a bulk substrate... It's not really common, but I've had it happen myself once... Ya never will know what to expect unless you use an isolate, and even then you wont know how much you'll get till it's all said and done... If it's big yields you're after tho, select a nice cluster with decent size fruits from one of your grows and isolate it, after you have that, then all you have to do is perfect the art of pin triggering... Which can only take place after the substrate is FULLY colonized and consolidated... Knowing when to start fruiting comes from experience, but pin triggering REALLY takes practice...
The most important aspect of pin triggering tho is having as much evaporation of moisture from the surface of the myc as possible...That, and fresh air exchange, which is what causes the evaporation. If you can get that down then you should see much better pin sets. How big they grow however is really all up to genetics... Besides factors like FAE & moisture, but you've already got that handled, right? Oh, and dont go freakin if you have a tub or w/e that don't put out 1000 pins... You can get just as much dry weight from 50 big fruits as you can 200 small ones... Trust me, it's happened to me a few times... Oh, and even tho it isn't totally 100% guaranteed to get you pounds and pounds of shrooms, GROW BULK. If you have 5 tubs, 99% chance you're gonna get more than if you had 5 cakes... Alot more... Anyway, Hope I helped... Peace

Thanks for the help everyone! Are you referring to Psilocybe Mexicana fruit bodies, or the Philosopher Stones? The sclorotia seem to be really popular in Amsterdam, and don't seem to difficult to grow, but I've never tried, and DEFINITELY want to in the future.

Well usually the bulk is in the stones but the shrooms are much more potent.
Stones are easier than cubes to grow. The shrooms are easier than pans.

That sounds awesome! Can you fruit the Mexicana spawn in trays and still harvest the sclerotia and mushrooms? If so, that sounds pretty sweet. Still wanna grow pans tho, but why not grow both?

How are the costa ricas in regards to yield? How about A+ Albinos?

Albinos have never been known for high yield.
correct me if im wrong, but albinos are more of a novelty from what Ive heard.

If I remember correctly the A+ and B+ strains are for novelty due to low yields.

Hm, good to know.
I have costra ricas fruiting, PF standards colonizing, A+ albinos up next, and Golden Teachers for last. Trying to gauge how much yield to expect from them.

In one tub. Also, I think I had the words yield and potency flipped around.

Lol, I don't know if the albinos/GT's will be there in time to be in the same tub. The Pf classics will for sure.

Yes, one can harvest the stones and then spawn the leftover grains and get good fruits.
