Just wondering if anybody has experience in growing p. Ovoideocystidiata on cakes? Is it possible? And what mods do I need to do to make it work?

read this in a thread, u make a tray with wood chips let it fully colonize, then chuck the whole thing in the freezer, for a few hours till it freezes.
get it out and thaw, simulate spring water, fresh air, and eventually it grows
QUOTE:
"01/21/06 This grow is an attempt to simulate a hard Winter, followed by a Spring thaw, which produces a flood, which picks up colonized wood, and buries it in mud along the stream bank."
"First, I collected the wild Mycelium and put it in the freezer in a plastic bag. The next morning, when I took it out, it was frozen solid; in fact, I was worried that I may have killed it, but I figured if it could survive being frozen in the wild, then perhaps it could survive my freezer."
"When I picked up the myc, I also collected a bag full of sandy river mud. To ensure good drainage, like what would be found in the wild, I melted about twenty holes in the bottom of each glad-ware dish by heating a nail with a candle and then sticking it through the bottom. I then put about an inch of river sand/mud in the the bottom of each dish, followed by about an inch of frozen colonized wood chips/sticks. I then cased with another 1/2 inch of sand/mud on top."
"Next I gave it a thorough soaking with cold tap water to wash mud into the empty spaces around the substrate . Then I placed the dishes in a tub humidified by wet orchid moss (I think this works better than Perlite , more surface area), kept it at room temperature near a window, and fanned and misted several times daily. After about ten days, pins!"
Glad you posted that Waylit !

I love the ovoids the ones I have found are highly potent, 1g will make me trip a hard level 3. But I've noticed the trip is more lethargic and heavy compared to cubes. The ovoids are more potent but I think cubes provide a better trip, I can't wait for my cubes to get done so I can get a good comparison of the two. I might even throw a half gram of ovoids in on a gram of cubes just to see where it takes me lol. Anybody have experience tripping on cyans? Is it a lethargic trip like ovoids?

What's the most visual and least euphoric strain?

Whatever "strain" you isolate to have those charecteristics will be the safe bet. The true mycological definition of a strain is a genetic pairing of compatible hyphae. We usually call strains "varieties" these days. All "varieties" have similar potential. For consistent predictable results you will need agar to clone or isolate.

I am looking for a new cube to work with, I want something with a thick gnarly stipe
I have and have been isolating PE, PE-UC,Transkei Africa, Orrisa India, Columbia rust spore, Brazil, Hawaiian and BHT
Had though about KSSS or Pf classic
What are your thoughts?
Mexicana strain A is another that I am trying to find if you know where I might be able to find it in stock

conditions and strain isolation will play almost all of the influence on gnarly stems and the variety very little. unless you consider PE which is sort of distinct in that way but it's a stabilized mutation.

That was the biggest factor in working with PE, I guess I should have ask are there any that are more prone to thick stalks?

Weird, my cams are very easy on the body. My girl couldn't handle the body load from my ksss so I told her to try the cams because I noticed how there was barely any body load with them. She loved them, she would throw up every time with the ksss but not once with the cams. Guess I got a good strain

I'm currently growing PF Classic, so I'll be able to post a growlog on it if it fruits. Got a whole lot of myc now.
KSSS didn't produce gnarly stipes for me, more like hobbit shrooms:

I've grown Thai, golden teacher, and A strain. I keep going back to the A strain, it colonizes fast, fruits big fat shrooms and is easy to grow. They have a good trip to them too. Its a hell of a strain I would love to do some strain isolation with it on agar. I wouldn't recommend Thai, but golden teacher is alright, just not as badass as A strain. I get a lot of albinos with it too.
