GT kicks ass. I have a GT tub that's just starting to pin. I love the mellow, warm trip you get from them. Last time I took some I actually ended up taking a nap. Have fun with that grow!

YEA I will!
It is kind of funny I mixed up my jars in my first set of colonizing jars ! GT with TR Coast!
I have an Idea which ones are which but I will have to just look at the caps and try to Identify! lmao! But a cube is a cube right!
But After I started my B+ jars I had organized more and now that I am working with Agar I am even more organized!
But it will be fun trying to sort them out!
I know all my 1/4 pint's are B+ and my First 4 1/2 pts are Gt but the rest of the 1/2 pts like 2 dozen are mixed ! Maybe I will mix them up and case them to trays ! A major noob mistake!!lol

Heh, not too long ago I did some agar work while I was drunk and now I have a few mystery plates. I figure I can fruit pretty much anything off a mix of coir and straw, well, at least get them far enough along that I can ID them. They're all edibles afaik.

Do they grow on Agar? Are they hard to grow?

You can't grow them. They have a symbiotic relationship with the trees they grow on and will be impossible to fruit indoors or without that tree. Hence why things like Chanterelles and black truffles are so pricey. They have to be hunted.

They need a symbiotic relationship with tree roots in order to fruit. Sure, you can culture chants on agar but that's about the extent of chant cultivation.

You should try oysters instead. IMO they taste and look similar to chants and are stupid easy to grow.

Got ya ! And I bet they grow in only a few places in the world!
That sucks I guess I will stick to other species that can be grown!
But for now I will stick with the several I have now!

Yea i have been hearing a lot about lions Mane ! And they look wicked coo too! I can not wait to get some spores to trade for them!
Are they easy to grow from prints or on Agar? What is the best way to grow that strain?

I guess I can also just pick the Morels that grow like fire around these part's! They are good too! But will definitely work on some LM when I get the chance!
Are the growing conditions similar to Cubes?

From what I've read lion's mane is tricky to grow unless you do it outdoors on logs. Their growth parameters are completely different from cubes as well.

Seriously, oysters are delicious and super easy to grow. Definitely the best place to start with edibles.

Hericium can be grown indoors but a Greenhouse really helps as they need a lot of FAE. Most edibles cultures are traded on agar wedges or plates.

After I finish up my 20 mono cube run and get some pan cyan spawn growing I want to get some oysters going, then reishi, then shiitake. Edibles are where its at.

I have some test run oysters fruiting right now. My pinks started fruiting on their own and I just slit up the bag my blues are in.

Earlier today I inoculated 6 quart grain masters. 2 reishi, 2 pioppini, and 2 pan cyan.
