Minis are a lot easier to handle. I couldn't dial them in right last time so maybe I will try again.

I did it just like with Franks tek. Really tight on the bottom, super loose (almost falling out) on the top. Standard hole setup. I think I used 1 1/8 holes, but I could check if you want. Probably depends on the RH of your house though. I also misted and fanned like twice a day, so maybe I didn't have it dialed in correctly and just didn't know.
Sure I could have left it, but it felt wrong to not mist and fan after SGFCs.

I prefer two 27 or 30 qt monos over one 66qts. You get better BE from smaller substrates and if one tub gets contamed you only have to toss half the grow instead of the whole thing.

Why do you think it is you get better BE with smaller tubs? Based on the pics I have seen it seems to be the case, just not sure why.

I couldn't tell you for sure I just grow them I'm no mycologist. My guess is the mycelium doesn't need to work as hard to transfer water and nutrition across the substrate. Just a guess though.

I like 6qts shoeboxes for the cost, but am thinking of doing a couple 66qt monos this summer some time. ive steered clear of the 66qt tubs ever since i started using small tubs.i like not having all the eggs in one basket because Im forgetful and junk.

I heard ATL#7 is a slow grower on agar from print! I have significant growth on my GT and B+ but nothing on my ATL and it has been a week today!

I just streaked some atl#7 to agar the other day. I'll forget to tell you how long it takes to see germination though

IME ATL7 germinate just as fast as cubes but the mycelium is a bit slower on agar. 1 week is nothing to worry about. It can take a couple weeks to see growth from spores.

Just got some Syzygy for a free be, so far so good aggressive mycelium and faster colonization from spore than Cams. Pretty impressive for a first grow, making om LC outta this baby. Trying out fatass for first time and PE6, so in time we will see.

I guess I just got worried because The B+ from MS syringe was super fast I already have transferred once. The same with the GT from a print swab! Is it the strain's genetics that make them grow fast or will the Samples I transferred from some grow faster because of isolating the different sectors of my cilium!

I've had very poor luck growing from prints. Out of about 12 plates I've streaked with various prints, only 2 actually grew -- a KSSS and a lizard king. The KSSS germinated in 6 days and the lizard king germinated in 7.

Its the samples you got. Could be just as possible to isolate slow genetics.

Try making your agar softer

The last run of plates I poured I only used 7 grams of agar to 400ml water. If you count just those plates then I had a 50% success rate. I made 2 LK and 2 KSSS plates and one of each germinated. The softer agar didn't have any negative effects on my transfers.
Softer agar is definitely key.

Yea I also failed to mention they are old prints! I got them from a TC on here , I like the GT even that they are old they are growing good and no contaminants so far on 8 plates ! It is still a bit early to get worried tho! Hopefully once I get something popping off of these I can get some prints of my own or trade for better ones and more specimen to work with! That's what I like about Agar you can learn a lot about different strains and it is impressive how other strains grow so fast but others lack in speed but make up for it in genetics!
