Yea I'd say even if you have a small amount of mycelium growing you should be good to go. I'm sure in a day or two you'll start to see some in the other jars. Like flamecloud said a week is nothing.
I tried to do an LC using popcorn and I got pink lipstick mold. I'm usually very sterile but it was my first time using popcorn or any other grains and I don't think I sterilized it enough before using it.
Have you used the popcorn tek before or is this your first time?

Hell yes you can screw it up. Usually by excessive moisture. But here's the thing. You want the kernels hydrated internally and really dry on the outside. It seems that popcorn needs a longer dry time than other grains due to a larger surface area. If you're doin cubes (for example) Look for growth that doesn't look rhizomorphic (or just looks questionable) and be prepared to toss it, especially if it looks like it's growing faster than you would expect. Popcorn does take a while to colonize, but when it does, it should lead to a highly resistant spawn.

This is my 2nd grow firtst time with popcorn. I made sure sterile was key
Bleach kitch twice. Sprayed air. Turned off any fans. Bleached again. Flammed needle after every can. Minimum movement. Covered mouth.
I pc the pop for 1 hr at 15psi. I didnt dry them fully but i removed some of the water on the popcorn. I jst shook them up and see what happens. Thanks!

Well... i wasn't trying to sound discouraging... but if you "feel" that your moisture content was off... it probably was and you should start over or start another batch and leave that as an experimental batch. Moisture control, and/or, the role of moisture in each stage of growth is the main key from start to finish. GE and FAE are also important.

yeah, any substrate. wet subs are perfect conditions for bacteria, and bacteria moves faster than mycelium. but I think popcorn may be the hardest grain to get just right. however, wbs dries faster than popcorn so that's what I prefer to use (especially since mycelium seem to penetrate it faster than popcorn).

you may get lucky if you have enough jars nocced up. you may end up with one or two that you can stretch by spawning to bulk.
What I would do (and I am by no means an advanced grower) is wait until I have a good jar, then spawn it to a tray of straw (with or without manure).
For any jars I suspect with contamination, I would do the same, but, I would hope to catch the contamination before it spreads and use only a considerable amount of colonized grain to spawn to a small amount of straw or manure, then pray to the mushroom gods that it won't contam. I would also treat the spawn run as if it were contaminated already, keeping it away from other projects.

can I ask why the corn? I prefer WBS, Ive had zero jars contamn in the two hundred or so jars since I started using a hood whereas with corn, I had two of the 14 go bad (one from each 7jar batch). I think it was bacteria, there was a weird smell and no growth. I attributed it to poor sterilization but who knows. plus wbs is super cheap as well. just my 2c.
because the tek i was wanting to used they were using popcorn so i thought nothing of wbs. this is only my 2nd grow also. my 1st was pf tek so cut some slack hehe next i will use WBS ;-) if i can find it

Stop.
Go get rye. It's the best spawn, and it's the easiest to get right the first time. Rye grain, and use RR's grain prep tek.
Rye.

well it really wasnt the hydration i was worried about. when i poured it out i didnt dry it fully so the outsides were still a tad bit damp. thats what scared me. But thanks!!

Im going to try pop corn as well. My reason.... Check this out... http://forums.mycotopia.net/holding-tank/58595-making-mycelia-slurry-syringes-bulk-inoculant-tek.html I plan on doing this tek with pop corn to get bulk inoculate. Then Ill use the slurry syringes to rye berry's. Then rye to poo.... This seems very efficient.

Popcorn is my favorite. Very easy and when you get it right it will never fail. I see people have so many problems with popcorn. All about getting any extra moisture off before 2nd PC.

The best thing about popcorn is that it smells so delicious when you PC it. WBS isn't too bad just kinda strange. I think oats smell good too but nothing like popping corn. I used it as spawn a couple times back in the day but its expensive-ish and slower to colonize bulk for me.
