Ibogaine is downright amazing
    #14523580 - 05/27/11 09:26 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

It's been weeks since my first trip, and it's changed me in such a dramatic way that I could have never imagined.  It hasn't cured the damage done to my nervous system but it has allowed me to take this newly found or awakened energy and do the things I want to do without feeling like I'm doing it for nothing.  This allows me to accomplish tasks at much greater ease, because I can focus on one thing, complete it, and feel good about it, and move on to the next thing.  I've been busier than I ever have in my life, with new work related projects coming into mind, and taking the action necessary to complete those projects.  And it's really working, and I'm seeing the rewards already.  I feel more of a desire to connect and make business relationships, which is what I struggled with in the past.

I guess you could say the Ibogaine experience created an upward spiral within my life and the chances of it spiralling back down seem unlikely.  This will be an experience to be repeated for life, that is for sure.  It is completely unlike any other Entheogen.

For the first 4 or so hours of the trip, thoughts were racing through my mind.  Random thoughts coming from nowhere and everywhere paced around my mind at speeds that would drive the inexperienced frightened.  I've learned from past experiences that keeping your body completely straight allows for an easier transition into the 'other'.  After remembering that, at around the 4 hour mark, energy rushed up my body and came into my mind, and I could feel it leaving through the top of my head.  The more this energy cycled, the more these racing thoughts got sucked out along with the stream.

Eventually all the thoughts vanished and there was nothing left but silence.  The silence remained for the duration of the trip.  Sometimes it would be uncomfortable, mostly bodily feelings, and sometimes it would be completely trippy, like LONG, vivid, real like tracers of my hands as I moved them around.  It seemed like I had another body.

Anyways, those are the most important parts.  Stock up on this root while you can... I'd hate to see it become illegal here in Canada.

this sounds like an absolutely amazing plant that I would love to try, and I am blown away that it is totally legal in canada.

However, I can't seem to find it available on any websites, and those that do list it have astronomical prices.

I will keep searching.

http://www.cerberusextract.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=48

These are the cheapest I have found.

3.8g TA extract was a good starting dose for me, not enough to break though.  It wasn't strong like a mushroom or aya trip, but more on the subtle side.  It was still very powerful though.  At times I imagined it fixing parts of my mind because of how the presence of the drug felt.

It may look expensive but once you've experienced the benefits of it money won't matter.

Soooooo jealous! Glad you had a great time, I really want to try this stuff at some point. I've heard it's a little dangerous for some due to allergy, did you allergy test first? What's you opinion on the dangers? What's a break through kinda dose?

Also did you experience any physical discomfort in terms of muscle tension or nerve pain etc? I can have a real problem with this when I start dosing really high with things like 2c-e so it's always a concern for me.

Sorry about all the questions!

Well can't argue with that, but since I'm not informed on dosage levels I want to make sure I'm reading that right.

3.8G = $266

That right?  Everything else we play with is mg/mcg so just checking.

Supply and demand.  If it was legal everywhere it' would probably cost five bucks an a gram.

yeah its great that its legal here in canada, and your right icelander but in this case because its illegal in the lots of countries, its still crazy expensive here. i dunno if you can cultivate it indoors but that would be a hell of a cash crop, more expensive than blow. and legal!

Wait so you spend 266 dollars on a dose that wasnt even a full breakthrough?

That seems completely bonkers.

Money isn't always the object. And for some $266 isn't a lot of cash while for you it might be a small fortune.

You can easily drop that on 1 psychotherapy visit.  Besides, when have you ever seen deranger make a "hopeful" post?

Money well spent IMO

I might say that in some cases that would be too much but Ibogaine sounds far too interesting to let the price put you off. Almost everyone who trys it seems to say it's very unique and beneficial.

Actually I see deranger as a pretty positive person at least here. He's also got balls of steel when it comes to mega dose tripping. There's not many up to his caliber imo.

Of course it is your money to spend, and if you can afford it and enjoy it than awesome.

Nevertheless, I am shocked by the price of Ibogaine. To my current knowledge it is the most expensive drug on earth, despite being completely legal in my country.

Surprising, thats all.

Nevertheless, I will start saving up and eventually buy myself some

I wouldn't waste that much money on it.  There are plenty of other psychedelics out there that would do the trick. The power is not that much in the plant but in the person. After 100s of trips on many substances I'm fairly convinced.

No disputing that.

As for the other stuff this is what I was talking about-

Quote:

it has allowed me to take this newly found or awakened energy and do the things I want to do without feeling like I'm doing it for nothing.

That's not the deranger I'm used to reading is all I'm saying.

Have you hit up ibogain yet Ice?

From what I know it the way it works is fundamentally different from the usual suspects...like salvia...so maybe it is unique.

Hear ya though...

I need to do some research and figure the average alkaloid content.  Those extractions are pretty expensive if it's feasible to do it yourself.

There's a few medical check ups you're supposed to get, but I took a chance and didn't.  There's lots of info on the eboka.info forums.  I don't have an opinion on the dangers, though it feels very safe for me.  It depends on the individuals health, how well they can deal with panic if it arises, their biology, etc.  There's no definite answer on what a breakthrough dose is.  Some are very sensitive to Ibogaine, and breakthrough at a very low dose, while for some it takes a much higher dose.  My advice is to start off small, get a feel for it, get an estimate as to what a good breakthrough dose would be.

Quote:

I know what you mean about the discomfort on high dose 2c-e trips.

There is physical and mental discomfort but it feels totally natural, after you ride out the first wave.  No nerve tension at all from what I can remember.

This was the TA extract though, I've still got 25g of Iboga bark to test out.  This bark is different though, and Maya no longer carries it.  Supposedly it grows on rock and is the most potent form.  It might be a completely different ride than other varieties of bark.

I did that with LSD and Salvia.  Most things I took the chicken shit way.

Sounds like in the 60's you couldn't do anything other than plunge right in the first time with the LSD around. I'd love to try that stuff. Only had real LSD 4 times and never had a full high dose experience on it despite taking 3 and a half hits one time.

I had six hits of sugar cube slipped into a coke and given to me by a "friend".  I didn't trip for two years after that but consider it one of my best trips in retrospect. I was very high.

Yes I did ditch him. He was a psychopath imo and his dad was Chief of Police where I grew up.  His mom committed suicide in the garage. He was a very good musician and could get good drugs and if we were with him we couldn't get busted.

He could act like a great guy if he wanted to fool you. I didn't know about psychopaths then.  I've hung out with and tripped with several in my youth due to the area I grew up in.  They were all dangerous. I got in trouble a couple of times and it could have turned out bad but by luck I was ok.

I know someone who's exactly like this..he'll act like your best friend if you have something that he wants, and is a complete asshole to people he can't use..he is sickeningly manipulative, and is really good at it. I always feel bad for the people who cross his path. :frown:

Depending on your own social standing you could call his bluff, apparently what they fear most is getting called out. But he might kill you so really depends on the social situation and how much you care about the people he manipulates.

He's really good at it, though, and I don't think he gives a shit about being called out, he would just deny it. He has a really loud voice and often speaks over people (like Bill O'Reilly), so there's no way to tell him anything that he doesn't wanna hear.

What do you mean by social standing?

Well he is a veteran, he was a Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps. Really, though, I don't think he would kill anyone because he values his freedom..the risk of going to prison is not worth killing anyone for him.

I care about the people he manipulates, and have even called him out on what he's doing a few times, but he just gets loud and angry. He doesn't physically hurt people, so I don't usually intervene when he's manipulating them..I think it's good to let people figure things out for themselves sometimes.

By social standing I just meant that if everyone who's freinds with both you and him prefers him or he's good enough at manipulating to turn them against you, them you might lose freinds with some. Probably you're not in that situation though otherwise they wouldn't really be freinds. Still sounds like it's best not to do anything and they will all figure it out eventually.

Yeah, a lot of people who have been screwed by him are wise to his act, and talk about him behind is back..I figure, eventually, more and more people will notice his ways.

It kinda sucks because, besides his dickishness, he is a really cool dude..I had to tell him to fuck off, though, because he was yelling at me like 3 inches from my face at the top of his lungs when we were getting drunk one time. That was the last straw for me, now I'm glad that I never have to say "Hi!" to him again whenever I see him cruising downtown.

Well can't argue with that, but since I'm not informed on dosage levels I want to make sure I'm reading that right.

3.8G = $266

That right?  Everything else we play with is mg/mcg so just checking.

What the hell?

The other site has much MUCH lower prices: http://www.maya-ethnobotanicals.com/product_browse.phtml/catid/subid/herbid_024

This seems odd, or am I missing something here?

^^Actually that site is only selling HCL ibogaine and it's more expensive than the stuff deranger used.

Anyway I've been looking into this and it seems many people who've done both prefer the whole alkaloid spectrum trip over the extract.  Yields are pretty good using powdered root bark. (not whole root)

It seems 25 grams is the going dose (extracted out of course so as not to puke all damn night).

Downside to using the full spectrum is it can last for 2 days on a full dose vs a shorter trip.  That's a looooong time to be tripping.

So anyway, if you're willing to do some work you can drop that price roughly in half or so.

Ok so that site is selling 25 grams of finely powdered root for 22.75.

Would that be enough to extract out an effective dose?

If so it is far more affordable.

Also, the same site is selling 100mg of extract for 37.50. Now, there are 1000 milligrams in a gram. The original poster said he took 3.5 grams of extract and did not have a full break through experience.

So... 37.50 x 10 = the price of one gram = $375 x 3.5 (number of grams OP used) = $1312 for a threshold trip?!

I find this very confusing.

That's 22.75 for whole root not root bark.

Cheapest root bark they have is 92 bucks for 25 grams.

The other stuff you are talking is pure ibogaine hcl..not extract.

No offense, but if math isn't your strong suit ibogaine may not be for you.  It can kill you dude.

A reply I got in another forum about the TA extract and why it would be good to consider the HCl or a known potent bark:

Quote:

one thing comes to mind, you say you didnt have full visions. This makes me think that TA ( was it form IW) actually has low Ibogaine/Ibogaline count. It seems that the only way to know what you are doing is to do Ibogaine HCl, so you get the full flood experience.  One provider told me that TA you never know how strong it is... as well as root bark, if you do extractions you never know how much is in it, one provider got 1kg of bark and didnt get much out of it...
