Well I've got a couple tubs just beginning to pin all the pins are prob half inch to and inch tall each. The problem is I have some plans this weekend where I'll be leaving Friday morning and not coming back until Monday morning and from what I can tell from prior experiences in my setting the pins probably won't be finishing until Friday or Saturday. My question is, is there a trick to either slow down pinning or speed it up and if my pins do break there veil on fri or sat how long does it usually take for them to start going bad. Sorry if this s a stupid question I'm usually around to grab them right when there ready and never been in such a situation.

At the worst you will come home to huge fruits and lots of spore mess all over the bin. But they will be good for quite a while after the veil breaks.
As for changing the rate of mushroom growth after you get pins I think you are out of luck.

thanks for your response, I had a couple more questions. I understand that the larger the mushroom gets after the veil breaks the weaker it becomes if my buddys are let go 2-3 days after the veil breaks will they become considerably weaker or just a little. it appears the veils will break on most of them tomorrow and I will be gone until Monday.

if you are real worried about it you could always judge how far they are rite before you leave and havest them then and put them to drying while you are gone

If I harvested the ones that broke veil tomorrow and left them drying on cardboard and a fan on them would they rot before I came back or be damaged?

i wouldn't lay them just piece of cardboard it best if you have some kinda rack to allow air flow all the way around the fruit. i just use racks out of a dehydrator. thats just what i would suggest

Drying them for multiple days is just fine, but don't put them on something that will absorb the water.
After the veil breaks it is not that they get weaker per-say but rather that you get vastly diminishing returns of actives after that point. Basically, you get more mush mass but most of it is without actives so they seem weaker per weight unit.
