Habitat:
Found on lawn in nj in back yard. Blackish gills flat light brownish cap, white stem.

you will find alot of lbms in grass, everywhere. you should grab yourself a good field guide or two, tell people what you think it might be, and keep looking. if you are hoping for cinctulus, horse piles are the best place to look where you're at probably.

Cool, thanks for your help guys, ill keep searchin. I have looked in a "shit load" of cow patties but haven't found anything growing in or off them, however the cows I think were fed hay.

nothing active will be growing out of cow manure in nj, that is in the southeast primarily

yeah better luck on the horse manure. get the Audubon field guide for mushrooms. i just got it and it is wonderful! and good pics too! :thumbup:

well horse piles will have P. Subbs... although i have had a hard time here in NH. i have found shit tons of oysters and i even found 4 morels last night! keep looking and eventually you will find some. go to a horse farm and ask to look around. tell them its for a botony project :wink:
