Interesting occurrence
    #14514401 - 05/26/11 10:12 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

So I'm growing some edibles via the PF method, and they are currently in the FC. I went to check on them today, and the mycelium fuzz was growing in a PERFECT triangle, and when I say perfect, I mean, it looks like it was subdivided and cut by a precision laser. Has anyone ever seen that before?

Looks like you had four inoculation points. As such; it appears four differing genome types emerged, creating the "design" in the substrate.

...But what the hell do I know. I'm a super-noob, LOLz.

Please assume any and all prints exchanged are "WILD" in nature; and thus, should NOT be considered ASEPTIC...

NOTE:  Please excuse my brevity, as it is a bitch 'n' a half and slow as hell to type on this here phone :frown:

That sounds like a plausible explanation, however, it seems it would be difficult for the other two cultures to grow in such a way it produces such crisp corners.

...But what the hell do I know? I'm a super-noob as well xP

While the grower was away, the myco will play. They probably has a land surveyor come in and sight off section, as to avoid any argument as to who's substrate is who's...

That looks like some kind of perfect 3D sectoring. Anyway, I have never seen something like that before - even on agar. Fungi just never cease to amaze..

Strangely enough, this happened on a few of the cakes, but nothing as drastic as that one. These oysters are gonna give me a scientific dinner >:)
