Dating a chick with herpes * 1
    #14510364 - 05/25/11 03:23 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

So ive known this girl for years and we've dated on and off but recently we got back together. So the other day we were talking and she was very hesitant to tell me something but finally said she has herpes. She didn't specify which type or if its both. I have simplex 1 already(mouth sores) and they are almost exactly like pimples.

I really care about this girl and she would be devastated if i told her i don't want to be in a relationship because of it. I plan on being safe, always wearing a condom, not having sex during an outbreak, etc. But is it worth it? the risk? She says her outbreaks aren't bad and are few and far between. I don't know guy's, it has put me in a weird situation.

That, my friend, is quite a pickle. I would probably only fuck a girl knowing she had herpes if I was planning on being in a VERY long relationship, like marriage kind of relationship. Other than that it seems like a huge risk if you're not head over heels in love with the girl.

Just one slip up and you too will be plagued with herpes for the rest of your days.

Is she worth it to take the risk? How much would it suck to blow her off?

You must choose....wisely

dude at least she had the balls to tell you instead of being selfish and letting you find out in more painful ways later..which id say is pretty telling of the kind of girl she is..sounds like you guys are already being straight up and honest with each other ..not everyone is like that ..something to consider

If the relationship doesn't work out and you contract herpes, will you be able to be as honest with future girlfriends as she was with you?

The answer is the same as to "Should you stay with her?"

I just try and have the mind frame that everyone has herpes, so I don't feel as bad when I fuck their brains out without a condom.

I do fear aids of course though...hmm

Ok anon is anon for a reason.

How old are you bro? How much of your life you have ahead of you?
How SERIOUS are you?

Im not saying be selfish, im no darwinism follower but...

You have ONE (1) uno... life. How do you want your life? Are you ok to make a commitment with this girl that could risk getting the herpes. Now imagine if you were to get it like someone else said and yall broke up... You will have to tell future girls, who wont accept you most likely.

Thats the cons..

Now heres the pros..

Do her with a condom on (obviously) and when shes not breaking out, in which case you ask her to let you know when she isnt. So you could at least have sex

Now im about to point out something that no one else has....

Eventually... Say you guys are 1-2 years down the road. Your going to want to have sex without a condom bro. You dont want to have sex with condoms all the time.. and say you even want to have a kid (long long term)..

YOU WILL get herpes... if its long time, probability WILL catch up with you.
Are you willing to live with it?

Its not a death sentence but shit.. man. dont waste that young life

This is definitely a situation that should be heavily considered.

I wouldn't do it unless I thought the girl might be someone I could spend the rest of my life with and I thought she felt similarly about me.

Because like dshow said, it eventually means contracting herpes...eventually.

You are exactly right. This decision he makes could possibly effect his entire life. He needs to weigh the pros and cons. The what nots and the what is.
