Oh sorry, I meant it as a question - I wasn't quite sure if nearby weed killer would make them inedible. The other day when I was at a local park I saw the rangers spraying weed killer !

Hi All.
First post on this forum, I am going on a bit of a hunt Friday, which I was excited about, then I started reading this forum and thread, and I cant wait.
So much so that today I was looking at the mulch outside my apartment block (5km east of Melb) and saw a mushroom, I was walking with a neighbor, so I didnt want to make it that obvious what I was looking at, but quickly snapped it off and kept walking, now inside my place I know that sadly, I dont have a patch out the front.
I suppose my question is, how close to the city (in the east at least) has anyone found a patch, or is this irrelevant?

My understanding is, that it is irrelevant because actives can be found in any suburb, obviously harder to find in some (CBD for example), But someone posted a pic awhile ago of 3 tiny mushrooms coming out of a crack in the concrete on high st/chapel. Just check out some of the pictures in earlier posts for what environment to look out for, and go from there.

A little bird told me to go and look at Mentone beach in the sand, they just pop up everywhere in sand.
Good luck

how draining is it laying them all out evenly, lol i get lazy with it and just spread them around so there mostly seperated and spread out. especially when you've picked a megga haul. mushrooms have alot of upkeep and require alot of effort as a hobby. but then again, they're free.

Had quite a successful hunt today. Found a few different looking p.subs.

Its amazing how differently they can form in the same, small area. I probably wont eat the black rotten looking one.

Now as for these droopy ones with the thicker stems (check the difference in stem thickness in the first image), im not 100% sure they are right. I havent seen drooping ones before, nor such a thick stem. I suspect they planned on flattening out into the wavy mature look. But as you can see, there is slight bluing on them. Very slight.
Currently taking spore prints of the droopy ones.
