Question on Flushes

So my friend is doing a grow and I'm advising on some of the tricks I've learned from here. Let's just say she is not quite as "resourceful" as I am. ;-)
CR MS was colonized to rye and spawned to Hpoo, and then cased (60/40 verm coir) after a few days of consolidation. There's was not a lot of growth into the casing when put under FC, so it's a bit difficult to see what's going on under there.
So far 6 pins have popped up. One about every 12 hours with the first one arriving a mere 3 days after fruiting. The first one is fairly far along now.
My question is this: Do flushes usually start slow, with just a few soldiers popping through the casing, and then explode? Or is it likely that she is getting a poor pinset since only 6 have popped up over 3 days?
I'm just one of those curious sorts and would like to know what the pros out there have to say about the development of a flush.
Thanks!

4 days into fruiting and I only have 12 so far. Hoping 2nd flush is bigger with this small first. Or maybe they're still coming?

I had a tub that continuously kept popping up pins here there
and anywhere

They got better and better as time went on

they were few but large, I kept getting handfuls like that. You can see in the pic that the fruits are in many different phases and pins still popping up all over.

Most of your fruits will come in the first and second flush, So if you have a less than desirable first flush you may be in for a wicked second flush.

i bet you didnt let your bulk substrate colonize enough.
and then you added more bulk substrate (coir/verm)
and now are expecting it to fruit?
naw its just gonna continue to squeeze out fruits here and their.
until the mycelium has fully digested the available substrate.

What I have done also is just pick everything all at once and dunk for 4 hours, then put into fruiting again, Kind of like resetting it...lol

Seems to be a genetic trait, some substrains go off all at once, some go day after day. I have a Koh Samui line that would be ideal for somebody with a little grow, it gives a harvestable amount every couple of days. But on a big scale, it's kind of a pain.

Thanks everyone! Totally makes sense K00laid. The bin consolidated for 5-6 days and started knotting so I told her to case. After a day it went into fruiting. Now it is growing through the coir/verm as this small flush finishes.
New Question: There are now about 30-40 new pins in clusters everywhere, but the original batch hasn't quite finished. First couple are about ready to tear the veil with others behind that. Can she harvest this first flush while the next one is coming in? I heard that a harvest mid flush can stop growth or the remaining crop. Will this screw up the new round that is clearly developing? It's looking to be a good one.
Thanks in advance!!

Also read that early fruits can be cut out instead or ripped out and that this can help prevent a growth stall. Would anyone recommend doing this? maybe cut the stem near the sub surface and then clean it up a little later? Or will that just rot and screw up the bin?

if you cut @ the bottom, the mushrooms will NOT rot. The mycelium will use it's nutrients to make more fruits. People prefer to cut, because they won't tear up the substrate.
