How do you take care of terrariums if you're gonna be away for a few days?

In July I'm going to Gathering of the Vibes and I'm gonna be gone for about 4 days. What am I supposed to do regarding fanning and misting?

depends on the type of FC you are using... if cakes, I would get someone to watch them. If a mono or msg, I wouldn't worry unless they're almost ready to harvest

How long have they been in fruiting? If they are just starting to pin, they should be about ready to harvest when you get back and require maybe one more good soak before harvest.
Since they are already in fruiting unless you have a cold garage to store them in, they will still require misting and fanning if not pinning yet

Every time I see your sig it makes me want to give you a hug... not sure why!
(couldn't find the hug emote, so i guess this will do ) haha
Seriously tho 4 days is stretching it but you might be fine if you give them a really good misting and fanning before you go

4 days should be okay.
personally, i have a super small computer fan that i suspended inside my sgfc from the lid that runs for a half hour every 2 hours. i HATE running back and forth, back and forth, just to fan. maybe you could look into something like that, even if its temporary. 4 days really aint shit if you prepare for it/mist, but not TOO heavily.
i know a ton of folks will think, "lord god, please dont put fans in your fc," but it works for me and my set up, but i tend to it multiple times daily.
hope it helped..........prolly not tho...

you dont even really need to be fanning your SGFC that much.
fan when you mist.
and mist to replace lost moisture. (fruitbody production, perlite moisture content)

Fans inside the FC can work just fine, but like you said, you have to tend to it a few times a day or the cakes WILL dry out.
Since he's going away, I'd recommend fanning less after the very last misting to allow the water to stay on the cake longer. As OP stated the cakes are in a SGFC, so the water will evap eventually anyway. JUST DON"T PUDDLE the water on top the cakes.

thanks for the help guys. i'll give them a good mist before i go. i'm also thinking it might be a good idea to drop the temp to about 60? that way the water will evaporate slower and the speed of growth will slow down. I don't want to come home to find full grown mushies rotting away. the cakes are actually still colonizing right now but they'll be ready for birthing soon and by july they should still be fruiting. i'm trying to plan ahead so i'm not clueless of what to do when the time comes i wish i had a mini sprinkler system to set on a timer lol

I think the thing to do depends on what the mushies are doing when it's time to go. Having been through this ordeal weekend after weekend for a couple months here is what I would do: If there are mushrooms, pick them who cares if they're ready, if you pick them you've got the better part of a week before ne thing else happens(plus fresh shrooms to eat / trade, hard to come by at a festy.) If they're pinning well that sucks imo, that means you're likely coming home to open caps. If they're not pinning but just fruited I would put them in the fridge to chill them out, they're be ready to go again when you get home. Same thing if it's pre first flush, chilling in the fridge always slows em down. -mor

if it is before or in between pins could an extended dunk work? My suggestion would be to take your cakes out and soak down the pearlite real good so that there is a good moisture reservoir to keep the fc humid while your gone if your gonna leave them in there.
