I have one true friend who I actually trust.
Who lives 3 hours away as well.

I have a few. I'm lucky to live close to a couple of them, too. I guess it comes with living in the same area your whole life
I still feel like I'm well-enough versed in the People-Who-Go-Out-On-Saturday-Night scene to make new acquaintances fast in a new area, though. It's a good skill to have.

lol socially awkward isnt even anything
its mostly about spending time with people
if youre worried about what to say or how to talk just do what i do
pointers: talk for a while always use a negative followed by a positive use your hands a lot (85% of anxiety is hand anxiety, its overlooked)
i only have 2 stories i made up. i always make an awkward situation better by just talking for a minute or two about one. its so funny how people fear talking, people fear it more than suicide according to statistics.

Yeah, I have to get drunk to talk to strangers without stuttering.
There, I said it.

Yeah i am actually blessed. I have a large group of friends that I have known for 15-20 years that are like family. My wife always says I have the best freinds. Of course I just happen to live far away from them all. Hell I guess you could say I have friends from Bellingham Washington to Auburn, Ca(near Sacramento) that are truly family. I am right in the middle. Luckily Eugene isn't that far away. Probably my closet "old school" friends.
And yes, having a wife that is my best friend helps, not to mention her family being around here also. They are one crazy group of peeps.

Yeah, I was wondering just how those statistics were gathered. Did they point-blank ask people what they fear most? Or did they ask them to mark it on a list?
Honestly, I think a lot of people just wouldn't think enough about suicide to find the idea personally threatening.

Some folks just don't like larger crowds or have a lot of friends, like me. But the friends I do have are very close, and I'm happy with that. Some are different and thrive on large groups of people. I prefer having a small number of close friends.

There, I said it.
I don't stutter but I clam up tight around new people unless there is a beer or maybe something else that lubes the vocal cords. My bro in law was telling his now fiance how funny and cool I am as I stand there listening to it going.....
Im gonna go hide now and stop saying I am the "dude". Gah!
I guess I just like to ease into a friendship before i let it all out. It might be scary for some, or so I think. Just the nicest I don't give a fuck guy ever I guess.

quick to google.
Far above the fear of death and disease, comes fear of standing in front of a crowd. We all want to be movie stars, but are terrified of the spotlight.
