No pic.. Got jars that are about 80% done, look healthy, but have spots where the mycelium is growing super thick strands- these are not mushroom stems, it is the mycelium. Does anyone know what is causing it to do this? I started them from culture made straight from a spore syringe if that means anything

It means that that particular substrain is growing there. And that's good.

Yeah I'm on my first batch and almost every jar had rope like growth in all direction i thinks it's a good sign. The jars are almost done and i cant wait to fruit!

I dont want to pressure you into posting pics. as i would prolly never do it. BUT, you gotta let me see what those flushes look like. Iv been contributing to a tread about isolating myc on agar and "selective breeding" sectors of mycelium for you favorite traits, to get your results, "ropey" mycelium. As i turns out, not many ppl are excited about isolating there favorite traits on agar except for advance mycologist and a few ppl. So I would like to see how well mushrooms do under really good mycelium conditions.

This is defiantly the preferred type of mycelial growth among mushroom cultivators. It is called rizomorohic growth and is characterized by long ropy fast growing strands of mycelium. The inferior type of growth is puffy cottony and does not colonize quickly. In other words it's a very good thing.
