Hpoo Pasteurization liquid uses. Are there any?

So I just finishes pasteurizing a bunch of Hpoo, and I saved all the "tea" that was left. Can this be used in mycology? As water in PF cakes maybe? If not, Ill just give it to my veggies. They'll love it, Im sure!

There shouldn't be any 'tea'. You're supposed to bring the manure to field capacity, load into bags or jars and heat in a pot of water until the center of the bag of substrate is 140F to 160F for an hour. Don't try to pasteurize manure like straw. RR

give the tea to your veggies. I would have to agree with Roger, next time try this to prep your sub. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13271608#13271608

OK. I'm confused.

Whats confusing? Put poo in bag, heat to 140 degrees. Dont let it exceed (it means go over) 160 degrees. Do so for 60-90 minutes.

The first post says 60 mi. The second quote says 90. There is a big difference between the two. I don't know why that would confuse anyone (with a brain). Sorry for the interruption.
Carry on then...

I guess it's 60-90 minutes. Safe side 90 but I'm pretty he is saying 60 minutes is fine as well.

I don't mean to sound callous but the most frustrating part of this hobby for me is correct prep of substrates. I have a hard time with it and when I get a 50% difference in timing advice I get,uh,confused.
It's all about proper preparation of substrates for me now. Spawn jars are a piece of cake. Thanks.

There are no set rules. This isnt math. Theres no right or wrong answer. Your replicating a living thing. Time is relative. 60-90 minutes is how long you should PC grain jars or pasteurize substrate. You can do it for 3 hours, or 12 it doesnt matter. Get it there for at least an hour, go to 90 minutes if you have the time. Its only confusing if you over complicate it.

but I think I should add I most often hear of people pasteurizing for 90 minutes if at 140F and 60 minutes if at 160F. Hope that clears things up for someone.
and to the OP, yeah... plants!

OK then,I'll just assume that the pasteurization process isn't critical. I consider myself as an amateur scientist/mycologist. I didn't believe in the rapture. I like facts. I am SOOO confused now.

the process is definitely critical...
I've done both times/temps... 140F internal substrate temperature for 90 minutes. 160F for 60 minutes. They both worked fine.

Keep your substrate materials between 140-160F for 90 minutes. Bring them to field capacity, first. Load them into quart jars or spawn bags, use water as the heat transfer medium. Use a simple meat thermometer placed down the center of the materials to gauge the temperature from the core of the substrate materilas.

Its not really critical. I've used horse poo with no pasteurization dozens of times before. Dumping boiling water over it and letting it sit in a tub works too. Proper pasteurization is good if you want to be safe and sure, but its not a big deal.
"uh.. cause 90min isnt 120min of course! RR says 90min cause that is a safe zone between 60-120min, anything less or more it will not work."
Thats not correct, more or less will certainly work.
In science rules can be bent.

That's makin' moar sense.
I've spent tens of hours on the search engine here on this subject alone and while it makes sense what you just said,it takes hours of interpolation/extrapolation to get a fair answer to any question concerning the pasteurization process. Thanks.

ok lets make things a little more confusing... you want your temps to be between 140-160 for a minimum of 60 minutes but no longer than 90 as you could supress benificial bacteria. DON"T start your time till it has acheived the minimum critical temp and obviously it's going to take 4x bags filled with Poo alot longer to reach set temps than a couple of small jars, so use your noggin and adjust accordingly.
