most of em actually seem pretty cool to me when visiting under the right context, but i've never been blessed enough to have a cop friend as cool as the one you described. i definitely give everybody a chance but yeh i guess i'm more likely to seek friendships in other people before cops...

My only cop friend is my sihing, and I'm kind of scared of him, but he's cool enough.

I would NOT want to get into an altercation with him

Oh, and my buddies neighbor was a cop, used to come and smoke our buds when we were 16 or 17...He'd see us go in to the garage and just walk in and get in line :awethumb:

He ended up getting fired for something dumb.....go figure

when I was 14 a guy I grew up with became a cop, he was a good friends
brother, anyway the guy used to provide the drugs and alcohol for the parties
we'd throw, alf the time he was in uniform, he took me to my first titty bar
when I was 16 after dosing me up with about 5 hits of purple microdot

I used to smoke weed with a county judge, a lawyer and a funeral director,
all the cops in town knew me only a couple ever fucked with me, piece of
advice given to me by 3 different cops was "dont run, it just pisses us
off, if a cop says stop, stop. all they want to hear is a plausible story
that matches what the call they received was". so far that's always been true

Sounds like you hang out with a bunch of corrupt ass motherfuckers.

No surprise there.

The only thing worse than a self-righteous cop with his gun in your face because he's confused and ignorant is a piece of trash human being that will assume the "authority" of the law and then break the exact codes that he signed his name down to enforce.

Pure Garbage.

All my dealings with cops have been rather pleasant the last few years... maybe it's just because I'm in cali now.
Been pulled over a handful of times, once I was breaking multiple laws, (doing 20 over, too dark tinted windows, no tags (they were lost in the mail). The cop could have given me several tickets and really ruined my day if he wanted to be a dick. But I've gotten off with a 'warning' every time. Instead he just says, watch your speed... your windows are too dark you can only have that with a prescription from your eye doctor (hint hint nudge nudge) and I'm just going to write you a fixer ticket for the tags (get it fixed within 30 days).

But I like to think it's the way I handle myself in those situations that plays a large part.
I enter into a zenlike state, and treat the cop with utmost respect, answer his questions quickly and without BS. Usually that respect is almost always returned back to me, when they see I am not there to fuck around and I know they are just doing their job.... I Just don't give them any reason to suspect me any deeper than them pulling me over or whatever. After 1 minute of talking they are just like oh, just a regular white guy, these are not the droids I am looking for....

You cant be serious...

:curbyourenthusiasm:

This.  I'm not saying all cops are bad, but the ones that are make their presence known by being giant assholes.  I do enjoy outwitting asshole officers though.

Pris, LMAO at the 35 mph story..

Not true. Some cops are just assholes.

Some cops are are great. I've had outdoor drinking sessions busted up with some underage drinkers and all we where told is "we are getting complaints from the houses over there. Keep quite or move." Okay sorry, bye now. Then three cruisers head on back down the tracks. Of course we where kind of known as the mellow don't fuck shit up crowd. The wanna be g's got hassled all the time
That was a long time ago though.

way better to lose the sack and be free than lose the sack and get locked up,
it's because of cops like that that I've asked a lot of cops whether they
wanted to enforce drug laws or not, about half say they're bullshit

I got stopped for driving 10mph under the speed limit once, went to jail for
driving 6mph over the limit once, the jailing was because I was living with a
stripper that the cop had the hots for but she just wasnt interested
