Newbie with a question

Hi all, very new to all this, just purchased most things I need on eBay and I was just about to buy a water heater when I wondered if It would be best to use one of these or buy a light instead?
Lights don't have thermostats so I assume that a water heater would be better (the 2 box method) as you can set it to the perfect temperature.
Any views on which I should go for?
Thanks

Sorry, I thought heating was incubating. As for the 'fruiting' box (where you put the cakes in after) what temp should that be? Room temperature?
Thanks

yup, room tem. around 80 is a great contam germination temp, so try not to go up that high. yea, if you live in the right climate u dont need a heater, unless your work in the winter? but im guessing no? yea you dont need that stuff =] keep it simple. shotgun tank, windows for light.

Its cold over here, plus the central heating isn't working so I think I will need a heater as its about 5deg celcius. Also what is a shotgun tank?
Do I keep the crop at 27degreees throughout the whole process? from start to finish?
Thanks and sorry for the stupid questions!

side note, you dont use the 2 box methed for a fruiting chamber. i was just trying to figure out what you were sayin. heating up the incubator is in the past, we now know room temps is best.
lol hey NP, I know how stupid ppl can be to noobies. gotta start sumwhere. but yea sounds coolllddd, 27 degrees is way to cold, i think you ment 72, thats a good temp =] The shotgun tek is RR's terrarium, let me find you a link. or you could search "shotgun terrarium tek" are sumthing around that. its by RogerRabbit, so just look for his name in the tek.

http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek watch "pf tek part 3" thats the terrarium tek by one of our mods RR
If its really try where you live tho, you may want a monotub tek, because the surrounding humidity has to be around 60% for the tub to work right, also you have it up on a table with at least an inch of space under your shot gun terrarium. hoped this helped

Wow really? I just read an old guide and it said you need a incubator, I assume it was an old guide ... are there any newer guides out there?

i read that many times also. i believe the argument was when it comes time to fruit, the temp needs to drop 10 degrees than inc temps to intent fruiting (among othere things) but dont quote me on that one yet lol but everyone will say to incubate at room temps.
