it's been a rough season so far man. it's in the making though. can't rush mother nature. it seems as if everything is slowly but surely picking up. keep on hunting and good luck.
btw: all you georgia folks are more than welcome to post in this thread as well.

Nice pics as usual. Pretty cubes.
Did you ever think about turning the date stamp on, on your camera?
I love date-stamping my photos. It's nice when looking back at them as well.
Just a suggestion

it seems as if my camera doesn't have that funtion. i have to dl some software (which i am doing) and then you have to do it manually.
i'm getting a new camera soon anyway. i've broken 2 in the past year and i'm working on my 3rd. maybe i'll go and get one today... i'll make sure to get one with the time-stamp function. totally bad-ass idea.

I searched and searched online and found this info:
In Sony DSC-S950, press Menu button, go to Setup menu, Clock settings and adjust time and date, press OK, press Menu button to exit.
I hope that works for you and glad you liked the idea...I really like it when looking back at my photos from a couple years ago!

you can set the date and time but it isn't displayed when you look at or upload the picture. weak. so i can't time-stamp the photo just using the camera. i'm just going to go get a new one. hopefully i can do that today. thanks for looking though, i appreciate it. soon my new pictures will be with a new camera.
thanks again,

thanks man. i love that little fucker. where are you located? this summer has been horribly dry. i think things will start to pick up soon though weather wise. google earth is a great place to find fields. try to find fields with life. trees, berries, grass, rich soil, some shady areas, some open areas and oh yeh, cows. stay away from littered dry, sandy fields. they will do you no good. don't forget about the woods either. you can find some awesome edibles, gyms and other interesting fungi in the bush. but, if you are looking for actives...stick to the cow fields, horse stables and horse fields.
golf courses are horrid places to pick mushrooms. they use so many chemicals and fertilizers you might as well wash your fungi down with drano.
if you have any other questions, let me know.

im from ohio, but plan to go to new orleans soon in a week or two. So since its soo hot out should i look along tree lines and shady spots in the fields? Given that new orleans is pretty damn near surrounded by water, it probably wouldnt need to rain if my right. Google earths a good idea, thank you.

regardless if it's surrounded by water or not, you are still going to need rain.
your best bet is to look 24-48 hrs. after the rain. however, since it's been so dry, i've noticed that cubes aren't really maturing until about 3 days after the rain. those cubes i picked yesterday were on day 2. notice how the veil is still partially in tact. some people prefer this and some people don't. some people like big fat mature cubes while others prefer them just as the veil is breaking. i like cubes just as the veil is breaking. if you want more bang for your buck, wait a little longer. but, the longer you wait the more risk you run. other hunters, animals and sun baked cubes are the risks you are taking, amongst other things. i have my own private field that i can choose to hunt whenever. this happens to work out very well for me. being that i hunt almost everyday (whether it's the woods or the fields), i can take my time and relax and not have to worry about other hunters and pissed off farmers. you are definitely going to have to look in the shadier areas of the field. areas with tall grass, tree cover and pine needles and/or leaves will provide cover and humidity for the fungi to flourish. hope this helps a little. once again, if you need anything...let me know. my name on aim is: digitalcubensis you can hit me up there anytime as well.
 peace and love bloodworm
p.s. you know you have actives in ohio right?
Ohio Gymnopilus aeruginosus Gymnopilus junonius Gymnopilus luteofolius Gymnopilus luteus Panaeolus cinctulus Psilocybe caerulipes Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata
