verm/brf pf tek--were they too hot?
    #1448565 -

My pet mouse boiled 28 jars with verm-brf(amazonian strain). They were boiled in two sets of fourteen, because his pots suck. The first set was allowed to cool over night and then inoculated the next day. They were put into an incubator and the next fourteen were boiled. He got lazy and tried to cool the jars too rapidly-they were put into a cold water bath for bout an hour, and they were then inoculated. All the jars were kept in an incubator for six days. This is the seventh day at 81 degrees approx and I see visual signs of colonization only in about half! Am I going CRAZy or were the jars too hot? newbie needs help-peace

if your jars were dunked in cold water its possible that the middle was still to hot. other than that theres not too much else to say, except give them a couple more weeks and if they still show no colonization, toss em' and be happy that half are colonized. also, about every tek ive read strongly recommended against forcing your jars to cool. so i have to ask...why??

like I said, he got lazy. I'm gonna continue for signs of colonization--hopefully more than half will begin to colonize-if not, ohhhh well --thanx

No biggie. Give it a couple weeks before you toss them.
