Possible problem after flipping jars
    #14500802 - 05/23/11 07:24 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I have done some reading about flipping jars at about 50% colo, I had

done it before, but its been so long. I flipped 5 out of 10 of my jars,

just to see, but now it seems like the ones I flipped, there is a lot of

condensation in the new top (bottom) of the jar, and the myc is growing

thick, almost like its not wanted to colonize the center. The ones that

I didn't flip, seem to be doing alright.

Anyways, anyone else have a problem like this?

Would it be to any benefit to flip them back upright?

Thanks.

Might be struggling from lack of GE now that the holes arent open as they were cuz the verm will clog the holes. I take it you used a dry verm layer?

i vote for low ge too.
also, if the water condenses in your verm layer,
it will defeat it's purpose, possibly wicking in
contaminants.
a ot of folks like to flip em, but whenever i've done
it my jars contaminated.

I did use a dry verm barrier..

I'm going to flip one of the cakes right side up and see if it does any better, if so, I will do the rest, if not, I guess it will do what it will do.
