i have concluded that all religions are different means to justify the same end.
the specifics of religion do not matter. in our information era, they function on a socio-judicial level, they are to direct morality. what remains 'just' is up to the venerable eyes of god (judges, the bible). the reason that justice is an arbitrary way to value something is because the outcome is only fair if you are weighing two equals (i believe Machiavelli said this), whatever moral decision that the judge makes is always set to an arbitrary standard, religion universalizes this standard, this is the reason jefferson wrote our constitution under god and in the name of justice. everyone in the society is born with the religious ideaology to consign to the symbolic pact or literally the material action of following the laws and doing what you are told. religion did not always function to control the masses (new opiate for the masses, zizek), it was to explain terrestrial phenomena with celestial answers, globalism removes this shroud of mysticism and makes the philosophical debate less metaphysical and more material, thusly religion just serves to create law and order.

What does it matter what we think we know? In the end, there is no denying the Truth.

When you're dead(the end), you'll find out. That is all it means.
Whatever misconceptions about reality anyone has will be quickly rectified at that point.

Except if I am right and "I" ends upon death. Then this life is all that matters... Perhaps you cannot deny that the self ends after death (if this is true) but you also won't be able to process that information.

Well, If you wanna call Buddhism a religion, I am very fond of it. I respect the religious people themselves, but in no way do I respect the source material of any Abrahamic religion, mormonism, or scientology.

I actually think Christianity is alright, when preached by sane individuals. I feel the same way about all other religions.

The thing is, though, when ever christianity is "alright" it is when people pick and choose what they want out of the bible. If people really followed it then it'd be a shittier world in my opinion. You can learn all the good things from the bible without ever reading the bible. If people are gonna pick and choose, why bother calling yourself christian?

Well. I don't think the laws of ancient times really apply to current times. So "picking and choosing" is perfectly valid when the laws don't really apply to the modern world (e.g. not eating pork).
Other than that, if people REALLY followed what Christ taught, the world would be a much greater place! Selflessness, love, ridding yourself of jealousy/coveting/desires...
The simple fact is that most Christians are nothing like Jesus.

I have gained the most from Hermeticism, so naturally I like it the most. But I like all religion. I think something can be learned from all of them.

Peace of mind. And a unification of most religions. It's not exactly a religion but it is. It just made me realize my connection to the divine and enabled me to gain control of my mind when I needed it most.

Interesting. I feel like I've gained peace of mind in the acceptance that I know nothing. Death is almost exciting, because it's a whole new set of possibilities.
