Beginning stages of trichoderma or black mold? Hopefully not!!
    #14499242 - 05/23/11 02:03 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I noticed when I woke up today (monday, 5-23) that 1 jar out of 10 has a dark green color. Actually, I'm not sure if it's dark green or black. In good natural lighting, if you look closely, it's a dark green color, VERY dark green, almost black. In normal lighting it looks black. If it is green, it is not the typical light colored green I see in all the trichoderma pictures. Again, it's VERY dark green. Can someone please tell me? Perhaps it is just vermiculite? Should I wait a few days? Should I remove the jar from the rest of the other jars? Thanks.

As for background info, they are brf and verm, PF TEK, PC'd for 90 minutes. The temperature in my room (where I'm incubating) varies throughout the day. I have the hottest room in the house. I should really get a room thermometer, but the temp probably varies between 76-85. I have since moved them to a cooler room. I am using B+ spores, which is supposed to be "very forgiving" in regards to temperature.

Black mold? Ok, time to do some research now!

Any other takers on the matter?
