Gymnopilus or Subaeruginosa ? - Microscopy: help for unusual find.

Hi guys,
Last week Chooken posted this thread where he found what seem to be unusual Gymnopilus, or perhaps Subaeruginosa with strange red spores. I met up with him and he gave me a small gill fragment and a spore print. (Was good to meet you!)
Quote:
chooken said: Habitat: Found growing in woodchips, along side a patch of Psilocybe subaeruginosa
Gills:

Stem:

Cap:

Spore print:

Bruising: Bruised blue on cap, gills and stem
Location: Found in the inner N/E suburbs of Melbourne
First thing I noticed was that the dry print is now exactly the same colour as my Subaeruginosa prints. While fresh my sub prints are purple, but upon drying go brown. Chookens finds (while obviously red from his photos) have turned to a very similar brown as well. I will get a pic in good lighting, but the colours are pretty indiscernible.
I have my shitty Indian-made microscope and use a cell phone as my photo equipment, it's a lot better suited than my actual camera. In order for me to take videos where I alter the focus, I put my leg on the table and hold the cell phone in one hand against it. It's a mission let me tell you!
I've had trouble finding good information on the best ways to find important features (other than spores) like the basidia, pleurocystidia and cheliocystidia. When I used an electron microscope it was easy, but their rather transparent nature makes them hard to find in a light microscope. Anyways, I'll post up my pics and videos and hopefully you guys can help me decide what these are. Part one should be pleurocystidia I believe.
There are three segments to the video, the middle one is crap I know, but the only way I could see the 3 small structures in the top centre right in the video was to mess around with the lighting. I'll get pics made.
Can anyone tell me if this is likely to be Gymnopilus? Do I need to find anything else? Pics will come tomorrow.

Gymnopilus spores will be finely ornamented (bumpy) and lack a germ pore whereas subs will have smooth spores with an apical germ pore.
It's really hard to tell from the video but these appear to have ornamented spores.

Do you know if the prints in the pictures are fresh or dried?

Some more attempts to show the spores in a better focus. And a cool tiny(tiny) water flea or something.

Nice pics. It's a Gymnopilus sp. Those spores are ornamented.
For comparison here is a micrograph of some Psilocybe subaeruginosa spores in water

I would point out the last set of pictures are dried out, I think I left the scope on. I assume you mean augmented by the fact that there are lumpy regions in the cavity/indentation? This is a lot easier to see from the dried ones so I assumed it was due to shrinking. SO that's awesome then because I have never seen Gym's that bruise like that!!!

And by the by what the fuck happened to my fake youtube account? That's odd. I'll repost the video. Uggh.

Ornamentation refers to the surface texture of the spores. In both sets of pics where the spore surface is in the focal plane they appear bumpy (characteristic of Gymnopilus). If they were subs the surface would appear smooth (lack ornamentation).

Probably Gymnopilus. The video is no longer available though.
Cystidia pics would help.
It looks like the blue from the subaeruginosa collection rubbed off on the Gymnopilus.

I believe your flea is a Tardigrade or water bear.
