Maybe Cortinarius, see if pins have a cortina.
Hebeloma is possible but more unlikely.
What habitat and substrate was it in?
The stem bases appear to be grabbing woody debris and this indicates that it is saprobic and not a mycorrhizal mushroom like Cortinarius.
If you can, check if the spores are warted and if they have a germ pore (with a microscope).
Please crosspost to mushroomoberver.org.

I suggest Cortinarius as well with that spore print.

Hey thanks for replying so quickly, in response to your comments:
No cortina on any of them (I understand from wikipedia that the cortina is the partial veil type thing).
As for the habitat, it was found in a car park in a nature reserve located in the hills around Canberra, ACT. In the car park there were a number of bays separating the car spaces with wood chips. There were a fair number growing in there.
You are right about the stems grabbing woody debris, it almost seemed as if some of them had roots when picking. I have uploaded a picture of this.
Unfortunately I have no access to a microscope but I will post to the site you suggested.
Was hoping that they were Psilocybe subaeruginosa, would you say not?
Thanks again!

Definitely not Psilocybe subaeruginosa.
They are Pholiota.
