Yea shaking a PF Tek jar might agitate the top dry verm layer, thus making your substrate more vulnerable to contams. It looks good dude, I would just let it be.

I think you're going to need more holes in your FC than that. You know about shotgun FC's right?
Have you checked how hot that light makes it in there?

the light has holes in it that allow for FAE. i will still probably add more holes however, i just got tired. the light does not generate much heat. the temp in there with the light on is about 82 degrees. sounds about right.

haha.
i might need a little bit more room. i was thinking about buying the exact same thing and just using the other bottom as the top (remount the light).
i have another (larger) tupperware. i might use that.

Add some more holes and I'd say you've got a pretty sweet set-up then!

Yes, you will need more holes. I take it you'll be providing humidity with perlite? In that case you'll need holes on all 6 sides, so the air moving through perlite can evaporate the water from it's surface and raise humidity in the container. You don't need to drill holes in the bottom and lid if you don't feel like it, it'll work well without them, just be sure to drill enough holes ann all sides near the bottom, and use a slightly taller perlite layer (to cover 3 rows of holes). Good luck!
