I've always been told the cap, but it really depends. I'm pretty sure there both equal in potency, I could be wrong.

The cap is more potent in aborts and smaller shrooms usually but in really big shrooms id assume the stem might be more potent since it has more surface area.

A couple studies have been done. The cap is generally 30% more potent than the stems in those studies....
-------------------- The mushrooms, which grow only during the season of torrential rains, awaken the forces of creation and produce an experience of spiritual abundance, of an astonishing, inexhaustible constitution of forms that identifies them with fertility and makes them a mediation, a means of communion, of communication between man and the natural world of which they are the metaphysical flesh.

Please share with me these studies you speak of. A source perhaps? I'd like to take a gander at them. People always assume the cap has more potency, but I have never seen any proof of that. Until I have that evidence, I say that stem and cap are equally potent. I don't see how this relates to mushroom cultivation though..

One was done in Japan and another in the States....I don't have a link. I got the info from when I was curious and used the search function here. Do a search of "caps vs stems" and it will be one of the posts on the first page....

No one has claimed otherwise. What was the point of this outburst? Did you just feel the need to call everyone a dumb ass?? And for your information, the secoundary mycelium that is involved in the formation of the mushroom fruit body is called tertiary mycelium.

There could be a link between the melanin in the cap and potency, since some people theorize that intense lighting increases potency.
It's plausible neway. But if offered some shrooms, go for the densest looking stems cuz they weigh so much more than the caps.

There's no appreciable difference between stem and cap. RR

RR said it himself theres no difference, and you also said it, tertiary mycelium

Your post contained nothing other than an indirect insult. Right now you are basically trolling. I don't care much for that.
