ID Request

As usual i was hunting for my panaeolus cyanescens and i found this guy alone and it looks slightly different, I was guessing maybe a psilocybe?? It is really strange for me since i can only find cyanescens on my spot. If it is a cyanescens don't get mad just enjoy the beauty of this mushroom lol.

If it was P. cubensis, it would have an annulus. It looks like a pan cyan, but bigger. IDK if cyans get that big....or any panaeolous...edit; change my guess to panaeolous solidipes. The striations on the stem and size are my reasons

It has mottled gills so I would venture to say that it is a panaeolous . probably a cyan.

....  Cyans are out of season and they grow on wood and grounds rich in rotting wood.  I think a more viable species would be Cinctulus.  In my literature it is described as a Psilocybe Cyanescens, not Panaeolus.

You're talking about the wrong mushroom. Panaeolus cyanescens is different than Psilocybe cyanescens. I would expect to see a fair amount of bruising on a Panaeolus cyanescens that large.

The above posters said it might be a Panaeolus cyanescen.

Yea I got it now.

Very similar to Pan. tropicalis

I've read about it just forgot, due to the similarity between the two.

It's Panaeolus cyanescens, probably a bit old to eat.

(the one in the pic above is probably Panaeolus cyanescens as well).

I think he means Panaeolus cyanescens and Psilocybe cyanescens -- which are different species.
